As for predicting the weather in our part of the world, it is nearly impossible to predict ahead by more than 24 hours.

The jet streams, the terrain, the water currents, Canada Line, immigration from China, etc.

:troll:

EDIT:

also want a shit load of snow, so I can use up the remaining 12 bags of ice melt. I bet Home Depot, Rona, Lowes, Cambodian Tire, and Home Hardware are all hoping for more snow, now that they have enough for every household in Western Canada to have ten bags each.

murd0c 02-01-2017 03:17 PM

I just want it to rain right now since I had new gutters installed on my house yesterday and I can't wait to see them in action...

Fuck me you know you are growing up with comments like that :(

The professionals at the Federal weather agency who have absolutely no bias or reason to lie have deemed it to early to make accumulation predictions. But since we get paid by hit, and "HUGE SNOW STORM" is a better headline than whatever they can come up with, we will just pull numbers out of our ass and throw them in a shitty article in order to drive more business to our website so we can continue to sell more shitty ads.
FUCK YOU VANSHITTYBUZZ.

The South Coast will experience another day of sunny skies and cool temperatures today before a major shift in the weather pattern begins on Friday. A weak warm front is expected to move north from Washington State on Friday morning bringing a band of light snow to the Lower Mainland and southern Vancouver Island during the day.
The warm front will be followed closely by a low pressure system which has the potential to bring heavier snow to the area Friday night into Saturday morning. Snowfall amounts in excess of 5 cm are possible over some areas from Friday afternoon into the evening. The snow will likely switch over to rain or mixed rain and snow on Saturday as milder Pacific air invades the area. Freezing rain is a possibility in the Fraser Valley and the Sea to Sky corridor during the transition. A second storm is forecast for Sunday which will also bring snow and rain to the region.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.tempetepacifique-pacificstorm.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports to #BCStorm.

One of the best times to be a scientist looking for grant money. Hey, I'd be stirring the pot, too.

Another issue is the fact they call it global warming.
When people see crazy cold winters, their first instinct is to laugh at the term "global warming" when for the people who ask the right questions, yes because of the "warmer" water temps in the oceans which affects the weather.

That being said, history has also shown ice ages and other wild weather in our past, before man kind was around. Sooooo...... where's my tin foil hat?

The snow was not sticking when I drove through west van this morning. Radio said 0'c but the car said -6'c... I dunno.

I'm supposed to be working in the valley today so I have to keep listening to these weather reports and talk show hosts saying it is the end of the world... again. Ugh :(

SumAznGuy 02-03-2017 06:10 AM

Snow is starting to stick by my work place which is just outside of chinatown, near the gelato place on Venables.
