Beautiful weather in Van. One of the most enjoyable things about Van is walking outside and just breathe in the cool fresh air... unless you are in the sewer that is Downtown.

Trout Lake is open today for skating/hockey.

love the air here too. every time i travel to a bigger city or somewhere near one i think about how much we take it for granted.

Really? This is the view a few steps outside my place. (stock photo, I'm not at home right now)

I think even the Downtown Eastside shares the same air as North Vancouver.
Parts of Richmond and Burnaby have pretty bad smells due to industrial activity.

But I think the biggest smelliest armpit of all is wherever you live Nlkko.

Sorry I hurt your feeling. Tips to improve your life: Stop worrying about attacking trivia comment from random strangers like me :)

And work harder :)

I think I work hard enough considering I live in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Canada.

shares the air with North Vancouver? wtf?

thumper 01-12-2017 06:44 AM

ugly morning. all the runoff across the streets from the melting snowbanks is freezing hard. on my commute on canada way and imperial southbound... black ice everywhere. myself and another motorist stop at the traffic light and then i notice that her car is slowly sliding backwards with her brakes locked. the truck behind her is standing on his horn thinking she is going to run into him because he's trapped in traffic and has nowhere to go. finally she has to gas it and is practically doing a small burnout at the stop line just to stop her rearward travel... not sure if she's still there :(

Capilano Mall to give away road salt for donations

They were doing things right, at Cap Mall, pre-bagging 10lb bags of salt and selling them for $5, with the proceeds going to the firehalls.

Just add the word 'Free' and there will be a mob of chaotic barbarism.

Salt is cheaper than ice melt. Let's not confuse the two.

Gumby 01-12-2017 10:09 AM

If anyone sees Alaskan Ice Melter in stock somewhere (hopefully Vancouver or Richmond), please let me know! I still have 2.5 10kg bags so I don't need it, but it would be nice to stock up a few extra bags. Thanks!

speaking of alaskan ice melt, does urs absorb moisture? the ice melt in my bag and plastic bottle both got turned into a sticky chunky mess

MG1 01-12-2017 07:09 PM

One of the bags I had for over five years solidified, I'm thinking the heat in the summer melted it. I moved the bags from the garden shed into the garage. So far, looks like only one of the bags was affected.
