well, good thing it starts on a Sat ... non working day for most.

AzNightmare 12-13-2022 06:08 PM

Going to wfh any day there is snow reported, whether if it actually happens or not, lol.

EvoFire 12-13-2022 06:30 PM

Gonna be an awesome weekend what are you talking about? Once the snow is already on the ground ppl would not go into the office given the choice. One thing that covid is good for is now everyone has some provisioning to WFH.

He's still in his BMW wondering when he'll ever get home, going through his contact list to see which one of his snacks does car dates

All those bridges were physically fine, but the massive backlog of traffic fuckednit over. IIRC for those ‘easy’ bridges only the queens borough had busses jackknifed

Snow makes me so sad, hope if it comes it's not a lot and it isn't here long.

I’m so glad we live west of the Rockies. We get a few dumps of snow here and there. Nothing like 30+cm the prairies and east are getting.

Yup, my dad has to clear his driveway with a bob cat just so he can get to work and my niece who lives with them can get to the school bus. A few weeks ago it was -55 with windchill, I don't miss it, not one bit. If I never seen snow again for the rest of my life I'd die a happy man.

Badhobz 12-16-2022 09:17 PM

If you get stuck again bro, I’ll get a bicycle and bring you some hot food and drink. And a pee bottle.

Last time I was in Mexico. This time I’ll be ready.

Are there any manual car washes open in Langley/Abbotsford/Mission? None seem to be set up for all weather and they shut them down when they are needed most.

MG1 12-16-2022 10:12 PM

My son's condo has a car wash bay. So does my sister-in-law's condo. Know anyone who lives in a condo with a car wash bay? I think my son mentioned his condo had heated water.

Just a thought...........

whitev70r 12-16-2022 10:29 PM

I remember the self wash ($2 token DIY) in Royal Oak in Burnaby turned into an ice rink last year ... it was so dangerous. So many people wanted to rinse their car and the water just pooled.

Freezing water will break almost any pipe/fittings due to the force of it as it expands when it freezes.

All the wand washes I know of in vancouver are outdoor, so their hoses/piping leading to their wands are all susceptible to freezing.

If you look at northern towns all the wand washes are inside of heated buildings. you drive through an overhead door to get inside and then wash your car. Unless you see something like that somewhere, they will likely all be closed as temperatures go below zero.

Similarly even automated car washes often dont have heat inside their booths so most of those will be closed as well (i'm thinking like the ones setup in gas stations. I'm sure Shine Auto Wash will be open still.

looks like tomorrow is the only day with some significant snowfall, the rest of the week, loooks well... weak.

tofu1413 12-17-2022 08:58 AM

I would want a huge dump of snow pls.

Zedbra 12-17-2022 10:22 AM

Wet snow all morning in Squamish, supposed to go all day and night

EvoFire 12-17-2022 11:46 AM

Of course the snow is no longer coming for 4 days in a row. Since when were Vancouver meteorologists right?
