it is a scaled iphone, but its not "just" a scaled iphone if thats what you're saying.
i think its one of those products that you'll understand once you spend some time using.

so they implemented all this jazz into the ipad 2, when they could of done all this in the ipad 1 to begin with.... money hungry mongols!

Well, the cool thing with Apple is they not only create the hardware, they also create the software as well.

We all know that the the idea/concept of the GUI was the brainchid of another company........ Xerox??? (can't remember exactly which company).

can someone expand on this 'personal hotspot'? i.e. if I have a 3G dataplan on my iphone then i can create some sort of 'wifi' zone for other devices to share that 3G? is that correct? and if so..would rogers/fido/telus charge extra for that capability even though it'll be built into the o/s.?

Yah i understand the added use of having a bigger screen, cuz thats basically what differentiates the iphone from the ipad and allows it to be labelled a tablet - its screen size. But what i was trying to say is that apple shouldve done more to make it a proper 'tablet', and create a new OS for tablet use. like android did with honeycomb.

yes. as long as ur data plan allows tethering (most companies has minumum 1GB to allow tethering), then u r ok.

it's supported in Android 2.2 and up.

CDMA iPhone has it first, now 4.3 on iPhone 4.
similar to MyWi on JB iphone.

not too fond of the iOS even though i own an iphone myself. wouldn't have bought one if there wasn't a jailbreak. but the smart cover is just brilliant. everyone buying an ipad 2 will be buying a cover as they go hand in hand.

the case is actually a selling point lol.

Actually I must say the iPad is growing on me. It does fill a very specific niche.

Heh thats why i plan on sticking to a 2 or 3 year refresh on my iphone :P rather than do it anually

apple "adds" hdmi support but they dont include a mini-hdmi or hdmi plug so you're forced to buy their adapter for like $40

they don't include a sd card slot so you're forced to pay $100 for 16gb more memory instead of $20

and they steal the idea of the "smart cover" from another company that makes ipad cases


man i know i want to get my mom an ipad but its just so hard to support apple when they're constantly screwing ppl

iPad will never be a pc alternative to me since you can't do multiple things at once. This was understandable for the iPhone since the screen is so small but it would be nice if the iPad allowed you to, for example, watch a video on the top right, have msn chat window on bottom right, and have safari open on the left side. If this becomes possible I may jump over.


Damn I should email Steve jobs that idea! Break the iPad to 4 different sections of the screen.

Also I'm quite surprised they didn't include the retina display. Found that very odd and disappointing as I thought the retina display alone is worth getting the iphone4 over te 3gs

Meh even though "some" ppl are gettinga annoyed they're still gonna sell millions and make a killing. I'm sticking with Android tablets.

I find the iPad2 to be an iPad S at the very most.

Nothing new were introduced really. It's just a speedier version with a fancy case and camera (which should have come in the first version to begin with)
