FRUSTRATING!!!

I don't know about you guys but I'm having the MOST DIFFICULT time trying to update my iOS on my iPad2.

Everytime I try to update it gives me same message and I believe I've done everything I can do try and resolve the issue but it won't work.

I keeep getting the stupid message:

"iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup could not be saved on the computer"

I've dones all of the following listed below and nothing seems to work:

1) Disabled ALL security software on my computer
2) Updated iTunes to the latest version on Apple's website.
3) Uninstalled iTunes to instasll the latest version
4) Deleted ALL previous backups in iTunes
5) Checked system time and date and zone
6) Running iTunes as an ADMINSTRATOR on Vista

I simply just want to update my iOS on my iPad2 to the latest OS. Is that it damn difficult?!?!?! Heck I don't even give a crap about backing up, I just want to update the OS.

Does anything know what else I can try? Or is anyone having the same issue? I've GOOGLED the heck out of this topic but it seems like I can't get anywhere with it.

iTunes on Windows is Apple's way of telling you "fuck you, buy a Mac".

try disabling user account control, running itunes as if it was win xp sp2 and/or running program as admin..

I know I am late to the whole Ipad thing but I never saw any need for it till I started to really play games on my iphone lol.

Decided to get the ipad2 for the bigger screen. Any games or apps worth getting.... I mostly play poker and some racing games atm but anything good I wouldn't mind trying

So I heard on news1130 that apple will unveil the iPad 3 sometime next month.

And they're planning to drop the prices for iPad 2 to compete with the kindle.

I can't see apple dropping to price of the iPad2 to compete with the kindle to be honest. I can see them releasing something like the kindle but no way would they drop it to be around the same price.

They'll probably do like last time where the existing iPad goes on sale before the new one comes out. Apple has always sold the previous iPhone (as a cheaper alternative) along with the new iPhone, but they've never sold both iPads (except for a short transition period from old to new). I don't see them changing.

Well, you could have been someone who bought a Tegra 2 ASUS Transformer a couple months back only to have the Tegra 3 powered Transformer Prime get released. ;)

anyone using their ipad for school? i use the NotesPlus app and so far its been pretty good. but too bad it doesnt come with a pdf reader.

Senna4ever 01-04-2012 06:38 PM

^^^ iBook will store and read pdf files. You just need to use iTunes to import the pdf's.

dangonay 01-04-2012 10:02 PM

^ You don't need to use iTunes. If you click on a PDF file link in a webpage it will open directly for viewing. At the very top you'll see a button "Open in iBooks". If you select this, the PDF will be saved to your phone and will appear in iBooks under PDF's.

Senna4ever 01-04-2012 10:44 PM

^^^ Yes, you're right....totally forgot about that.

t_sack 01-08-2012 04:28 AM

iPad's are not locked, just make sure you don't buy a Verizon version.
