How can they block you if they're behind you?

Happened this morning EB on Hwy 1 trying to get around the roll over accident. Just about got rear-ended twice because they tried to speed up and block me.

"Try and" and "try to" are different. actions used in "try and" often are assumed successful. Which gives me the image of a driver in your blind spot, trying to speed up and successfully blocking you and you had to merge behind him.

Also add to the fact that if you were in front, it's hard to justify if the driver behind you almost rear ended you, so I assumed you meant you almost rear ended them.

Had you said "they tried to speed up to block me", then I would know that the driver's attempt failed because of the fact that you felt you almost got rear ended.

When people fail to yield on knight sb on ramp from marine drive... Then proceed to drive in the left lane at the same speed as the right lane cars. 😑

chevron only taking debit at the self serve pump. who the hell uses debit anymore!

then when you plan to pay inside there's a sign that says CASH ONLY and you end up having to use debit at the pump in the end... :okay:

The Shell station near my work is kind of like that except they only accept credit card at the pump (no debit) and they accept debit inside.

I don't get the logic at all

Shit like this is why I have absolutely no faith in the justice system. As fars I'm concerned this piece of shit should have his fingers crushed by a bulldozer if he ever gets behind the wheel again.

Required APA style citations, paraphrases, reference lists, etc. Spend 40% of my time writing the damn paper and 60% writing the fucking citations and references.

Not to mention you can't actually write original thoughts, ideas, or opinions because you need a fucking citation and reference for everything you write. And they say it's to prevent plagiarism. More like kill any degree of critical thinking.

6o4__boi 11-08-2016 07:41 AM

where the heck do you live?
I've filled up at chevron for years and I've never encountered one that took debit only.

Jmac, that's pretty much why i hated post-sec. So much of it felt like a regurgitation of shit vs actually learning something.

You know what I'm tired and sick of: RANT INCOMING.

- People who still drive and talk on their phone. YOU drive $60k+ car and it doesn't have blue tooth? Give me a damn fucking Kit Kat break.. I mean the B.C. government just doubled the fines 7 months ago and people act like nothing has happened. Also folks who text, you think no one can see the light pulsating from your crotch. Your vagina ain't that magical, sub par.

- The amount of folk who don't turn on their lights when night falls. Do we need a PSA? I stopped trying to have people turn on their lights (the turning lights on and off method). Only a tiny handful would look down and turn on their lights, the rest is completely oblivious.

- Pedestrians who over use the "I'm a pedestrian, I have the right of way." Two weeks ago, at a 4 way stop in the West End, was next in line to go when a young woman decided that her text was more important than everyone around her. Double tapped the horn, it got her off her phone real quick. Last year I was walking behind someone who walked into a pole and ask "No one saw that right?" No, everyone saw and heard you smack your face into that pole."

- People who procreate and have their unruly kids run around. Two instances; got yelled at by some lady to take care of the kid in front of me, yelled back that shit ain't mine. Their mother came over apologized, don't yell at me you old witch. The other was at Superstore a few years back. Some kid thought he was Usain Bolt and ran past me as I was scratching my back. Elbowed him in the face, looked at me and was about to cry. I still remember this clearly, I looked back and shrugged "Ain't my problem".

TLDR; Distracted driving still happening, an increase of folks who drive without lights on, and unruly kids.

Sorry for the rant. Holding in all the :fuuuuu: for last couple of weeks. Here's something to brighten up your day: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/c...sonal/c1hdgwv/

I vouch for the headlights at night. Every time I see someone without their headlights (you can tell from behind), I high beam them. This one time, I went from Commercial to Boundary on Broadway, literally just trying to get this dude to turn on his headlight. At a couple of red lights, I even pull up beside him and he just pretend I'm not there. Like, wtf? What do you call these people? Oblivious? Stubborn? Retarded?

Inaii 11-09-2016 04:40 PM

^all of the above :lol

coneZONE 11-09-2016 06:22 PM

and in addition, those people who feel like they need to zip around with their high beams on at all times... it hurts my eyes... (even after I flip the rear view mirror it still comes at me via side mirrors)
The most recent one really really drove me nuts, it was a 2016 Civic and this dude had his high beams on two cars behind me. Like the newer cars already have pretty decent head lamp optics, this dude's high beams were ridiculous. We were going up the Cut on Hwy 1, I kept right and let him pass me and I gave him a couple flashes to remind him, but it's like he was completely oblivious. :rukidding: Nothing changed.

I am actually surprised, lately, at the amount of cars I bring in at work with the high beams already switched on, when I do the light checks.

Jmac 11-12-2016 05:50 PM

Auto-dimming side and rear view mirrors FTW

coneZONE 11-12-2016 07:15 PM

but I don't have an auto-dimming windshield either :(

fuckin highway last night

45 mins from Willingdon to Kensington
decided to exit at Canada Way
Canada Way also backed up heavily because of a stall/accident
10 minutes from Kensington to Sperling
Make right at Sperling to go back down to Lougheed

35 minute commute became an hour and 45 minutes.
fuck life.

Moral of the story, if there is a more faster way, people would already take it. You're not the first.
