Google photos didn't exist 20 years ago. I've only used smart phones since 2013

? OP tried defending their dogs, not cuddle the charging pitbull

The proper reaction is for dog owners to know how to control their dogs, and if they can't, don't take them off leash

Traum 08-24-2025 09:53 PM

I hope the owner gets charged for something. FailFish

Gumby 08-25-2025 01:14 AM

Fucking irresponsible dog owners… :flamemad:

Owner will probably just a get slap on wrist. Unless the dog has multiple incidents, it’s unlikely to be put down.

and maybe dog gets put down.

Not a dog owner but this makes my blood boil. Another response would be to bear spray the damn pitbull. Stupid effin owner, 'my pitbull isn't like the other pitbulls, he's trained.' :stfu:

Tourist asks if QE Park and Van Dusen Gardens are safe, many people, including women, mention how all of Vancouver if perfectly safe including DTES.

Dangerous breeds are dangerous for a reason.

Like my chihuahua !! She’s dangerous !!!! She’ll give you kisses and then you’ll fall in love with her and kill anyone who dares harm her.

Magical animals.

Hondaracer 08-25-2025 07:48 AM

There was an old vet in my parents neighborhood who had the best behaved border collie/dog I have ever seen

The dog would not move an inch from this guys side, was obviously incredibly well trained and being a vet, I’m assuming he, unlike most people understood the importance of dog being leashed.

That’s the only dog I’ve ever seen, likely in my entire life, that should/could be off-leash. Every other dog, if you think your dog can just be off leash out in public, you’re an idiot.

whitev70r 08-25-2025 07:50 AM

I don't generally like to kudos you but this is spot on. Wonder if vet's was a specially trained support dog.

Agreed. Parents of kids are legally responsible for their actions, it shouldn't be any different for owners of pets. The owner should be charged as if they had been the one biting through the dude's limbs.

westopher 08-25-2025 11:55 AM

Technically they are responsible. It just never gets dealt with appropriately.

In the original reddit posting, the victim called police and the police showed up before the offending dog's owner was able to leave the area.

Great way to get bitten again, should took a rock to its face instead, give the dog owner a nice vet bill, and hopefully the dog learns not to attack

SkinnyPupp 08-25-2025 03:44 PM

That would be a good way to get even more hurt in an attack.. They handled it the best they could IMO

Fact is, there's not much you can do when a Pitbull decides to attack. I suppose the blame goes to the owner for not being able to handle a fighting breed. But it's a fighting breed...
