Who here ordered tickets from the cineplex site recently? I can't seem to change the date anymore. Whoever redesigned their site should go rot in hell. It is the opposite of user friendly.

SpeedStars 12-13-2013 11:04 PM

∆theres been a few issues regarding online orders via cineplex (scene points not going through, seats being auto selected, dates wrong etc). If you can, bring it into the theater and get ur ticket swapped if you already ordered.

Wow, my post was worded really terribly. What I really wanted to ask was; how do you change the date to the date you want to order the tickets on? The site won't let me change the date and I want to purchase my tickets for Tuesday. Did they take this option off?

Seriously...who thought this new site was better than their old one.

A few weeks ago, I was at the casino in Coquitlam. While there, I asked one of the bouncers there why they were going to change the name of the theatre. The Red Robinson Theatre.

Their reasoning was that Red Robinson is only famous to Vancouverites. OK, I thought........ so what are you going to call it?

I have to spoiler it, because I want you guys to be sitting down and preparing yourself for the answer.......

Spoiler!

Now how is that going to make the place any more recognizable, Internationally?

I'm hoping this is just a ploy to get people's attention. So many corporations wanting to :fulloffuck: with our minds.

Michael Bublé was so pissed off with the news that he swore never to perform at the venue ever again.

He's not the only one who feels this way. Red Robinson was well known by outsiders and performers from around the world. Everytime they came over to perform in Vancouver, Red Robinson was the guy.

The corporation that runs the "Joint," are a bunch of no-minds. Hey, while we're at it, let's rename Stanley Park to "Back Yard."

"The Joint"

:ifyouknow:

Spoiler!

Hondaracer 12-16-2013 08:58 AM

They are still keeping all his crap there

Why would the hard rock keep the name? That's terrible for the rebranding of the casino, as far as I know boulevard was one of the lower performing casinos in the lower mainland so if you kept the RR theatre and all the same shit, where's the draw to check it out?

Red Robinson is barely even famous to any current age bracket that populates the casino anyways. I've got no problem with the change, obviously it wasn't going to remain that namesake forever

When you name something, whether it be a bridge, a city, a building, etc., you tend to leave it as is. It was named such to honour a person or thing.

So, by your logic, the Jim Robson Gondola should be renamed too, one day. Who the hell is going to remember Jim Robson....... why the hell would we even retire uniform numbers? Who the hell is Pavel Bure? What was his number again? Yeah, it would get you upset if those things happened..........

Red Robinson was a legend in the entertainment business. It doesn't matter if you knew him or not.

Also, the Joint? What kind of a name is that? It has no identity to anything.............. it has no fucking connection to our city, the area's history, entertainment, or anything else.

Nothing is sacred anymore..........

and god bless

murd0c 12-16-2013 09:41 AM

sounds like its being turned into a nightclub that will turn into a theatre when people come to preform.

Hondaracer 12-16-2013 09:43 AM

Jim Robson is far more relevant to Rogers arena than RR is to a casino theatre.

James Moore apologizes for poverty comment: ?Is it my job to feed my neighbour?s child? I don?t think so? | National Post

he tried denying he even made those comments too, can't believe he's a local too

While insensitive to say especially around this time of year, personally, I don't necessarily disagree with anything he said. It does fall under Provincial jurisdiction and really it's not his personal responsibility to feed or care for other peoples children if he doesn't care to do so.

Personally I have donated to a number of charities that focus on children, however there are way too many people these days that are making poor life decisions and having children when they cannot afford to do so, exasperating the child poverty situation and looking to taxpayers and government to try and dig out from their own poor life decisions and planning when they should be taking responsibility themselves.

Too many of these people seem to just want to rely on social assistance programs and have no motivation to improve their own situation and personally, I'm sick of it. I'll use a real life example I'm personally aware of, my friend is dating a single mother who receives social assistance because she is a single mother below a certain income threshold. She also receives subsidized housing in a prime Yaletown location, steps away from the seawall. She has no incentive to improve her education/trade training or job situation because she doesn't want to lose social assistance, Yaletown condo, etc... so she keeps working her entry level job with no plans on doing better. While she's collecting our tax dollars and subsidized housing, she takes the money she makes from her job and recently bought a new 50in 3D LED TV and Samsung S4 smartphone. Tell me that isn't fucked or makes you angry, how about she save that money instead and use it on her kid or improve her own situation.

So again while I have supported some children's charities, there are just too many people these days not taking personal responsibility for their own situation or wanting to improve their own situation and just looking to handouts, instances like these has just jaded me to all this.

WTF that makes me angry. I hate people that contribute little/nothing to society, and just take take take.

Me and my friends go to pubs for lunch so we don't have to sit at a family restaurant listening to 3 whiney loud brats screaming and doing whatever they want while mommy and daddy just sit there watching them..

Hopefully people who go to pubs on their lunch break for a beer and burger will use enough offensive language to deter mom and dad from bringing in their 6 year old.
