I was just thinking, when you guys ship things to a different address versus to your Government ID address (e.g Drivers License), how can you prove the item belongs to you?.

Say for example, you shipped an item to your parents home but courier give you a notice slip to pick up at the postal office due to duties need to be paid or no one was at at the time. The name will match, but address will be different as you live at a different location.

Not sure if you can pick it up but your parents with the matching address can pick up for you.

Usually my parents help me pick it up, if it happens. I have also picked up and it has been problem free as well. Just checked name matching...

I've never thought about this, but if they do give you grief, what if you have a copy of the invoice that has both shipping and billing addresses?

From my experience, CanadaPost only cares that the ID you show is a government issued ID and that it either has the matching address or name of the package.

Since #MassPsychosis is trending on twitter after Dr. Robert Malone, recently banned from twitter, brought up the term on Joe Rogan, here is a video explaining the phenomenon:

It does seem to explain much of what has been going on in the last 10 years, and more so in the last couple years.

Are there any good tips on reducing ICBC Insurance?

We have a 2021 Hyundai Tucson

Initial premium = $1956
Discount= -$846

Extension third party liability $2M = $71
Collision, $500 deductible = $917
Comprehensive, $500 deductible = $210
Vehicle License fee = $61

Total =$2,369
Monthly = $202

It doesn't break it down any further than that. Are there any specific things you guys do to decrease your insurance?

I have an anti-theft passive immobilizer on my car, which is supposedly giving me a discounted rate, the paperwork mentions this, but it doesn't layout the discount amount or anything like that.

Depending on the use, you can get coverage for pleasure, to and from work under 15/30/90kms etc.

I also saved once I took my inexperienced ex off my insurance.

Locations also makes a big diff. If I lived 3 blocks west of where I am now, my rates would skyrocket.

Get a quote from BCAA for optional, might save a few hundred.

Do you have BCAA?

I'm curious what it's like to make a claim for an accident?

Would I need to claim with both ICBC and BCAA?

With people working from home, has anyone changed their ICBC insurance policy to reflect that? (Reducing km travel to work or changing to pleasure/weekend)

Second year I’ve had ICBC/BCAA insurance, and I got rear ended in mid-December. I reported the accident to both, and currently I’m dealing with BCAA for repairs. BCAA contacted ICBC directly to determine liability (which I’ve been cleared of already). Since I am not at fault, my deductible will be waived. Everything’s just taking a bit longer due to the holiday season.

TLDR: yes, claim with both so there’s an extra step.

I have BCAA.

No problems with a single party claim, call in, file, get a number, send it to the shop.

Haven't actually had a real accident *knock on wood* so I don't know how it would be for them to deal with fault.

Does bcaa allow repairs at all the same shops as icbc? Or specific ones only?

BCAA requires the shop to be BCAA approved, but I’d say that most repair shops approved by ICBC would also be approved by BCAA. For example, I’m going to Penney Autobody at the corner of Main St. & Marine Dr.

Add your parents name, assuming if they got good driving record, it'll help the driving factor. I have 18 years of driving experience roadstar. I added my dad as one of the drivers, it brought the yearly insurance down extra $100.

^only works if you were originally the only driver listed. The premium is based on the 2 worse drivers. For instance, I have myself and my wife listed, adding my parents doesn't change the premium.

That's good info to know. Didn't know that. Yes I am the only driver on my insurance, then I added my dad in to get the rate lower.

You can also look at getting just basic from ICBC and explore the other coverages through private insurance places. I have that and the insurance company gave me a discount because I also bought home insurance from them.

So coffee anywhere is 25 cents more because they charge for disposable cups. Any chance they will fill, if you bring your own mugs?

How does this work exactly?
Like if you bring your mug to starbucks, do they just eyeball how much liquid it'll hold, and then charge you an equivalent cup size?
