How many days in a row do you guys workout before taking a day off? I find that after 3 straight days I feel pretty damn sore and the 4th day suffers because of it

my week goes: 3 on 1 off 1 on 2 off
or
3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off

depending how i feel and if i have anything to do on the weekend

RRxtar 10-08-2010 01:17 PM

so im for sure growing good right now. i did a working cut (keep doing everything, but less carbs and more cardio) over the last month and from what i can tell in the mirror ive dropped a good amount of the little bit of fat (from being lazy with diet) i put on over the summer and im about 4-5lbs heavier than i was mid summer, and leaner. actually im leaner overall now than before summer too.

i peaked at 185-186 on creatine and with more fat on me in june. and im about there now, off creatine and way leaner. and ive been putting on weight consistantly since summer.

shooting for a lean 190 by spring. i dont put weight on like some of you guys, so this is realistic for me

when you stopped taking creatine how much weight did you drop? I feel like my face is getting bloated from the creatine (or possibly paranoid lol) Weight did not go up.

Interesting. thanks for the info.

I started taking creatine again right when I started my diet so maybe thats why my weight hasn't moved at all (or at least I hope thats why)

I hate doing shoulders. So hard to fucking up weight. I feel so pussy doing DB shoulder presses cause im only repping out 50's.

Keep at it man, I just recently moved up to 55 lbs.
Come to think of it, there arent too many guys at my gym that I see doing "heavy" DB shoulder press with proper form.

The guys that do 70's and up hardly move the weights at all, hardly any range of motion

jeffh 10-08-2010 03:33 PM

yeah sholder press is a bitch
ive been stuck on 55's for like 8 monthjs

But at the same time its so full of win. Every one of my shoulder exercises have gone up ever since I started moving up on DB shoulder press

DC5-S 10-08-2010 03:44 PM

im almost ready to move to 65's now.. it seems that a dedicated shoulder day really helps out

Agreed, whenever I do shoulders I keep it to only shoulders

sonick 10-08-2010 03:53 PM

It may also help to switch things up. Overhead press/military press is hardcore.

ws6ta 10-08-2010 04:07 PM

I was stuck with my shoulder press weight for a very long time. Try lowering the weight and going for 15 reps for a couple of weeks make the shoulders really burn. then come back and try for more weight at 4-6 reps. (worked for me not sure if it'll do the same for you)

then again i'm the one with the fucked shoulder right now lol :( :o I work out shoulders before bi/tri.

ws6ta 10-08-2010 04:11 PM

my routine goes something like this:

monday - on
tuesday - on
wed - abs + cardio
thurs - on
fri - on
sat - on
sun - off

I consider that 2 days off even though I'm at the gym 6 days a week.

This is money. I love it.

RRxtar 10-08-2010 04:46 PM

drop the weight and do 90* rotating shoulder presses from neutral (palms facing your ears) at the bottom to regular palms forward at the top. i went from repping 85s normally to repping 65s this way and now 70s or 75s but my shoulders feel WAY stronger and i get way more jam out of them. better range of motion. i have no doubt ill be repping 90s normally when i go back to them.

Alphamale 10-08-2010 06:02 PM

^Isn't that the "arnold press"?

RRxtar 10-08-2010 06:36 PM

arnold press goes 180* from palms back at the bottom to palms forward at the top

Wenis 10-08-2010 07:16 PM

I noticed doing pyramids for my shoulder presses helped. Would start my set with the max i could go, go till failure, then would go to 70% of the weight, then to 30% with no rest. I was able to get that plateau that way... that and learning to fucking assist the dbs up with my knees. Goal is 100s by christmas..

On a side note.. anyone have the problem of their legs not fitting their jeans anymore? I want my legs to get strong, but growing out of all my pants really sucks.
