Oh man, I got my phone stuck at the samsung screen today trying to set up some themes and what not and totally thought I was screwed.

I deleted saurom from my internal sd before it bricked so I couldn't even use cwm to reflash.

After searching pretty much all afternoon I found that the only thing I could do was boot into download mode and flash the stock ATT package with odin then proceed to reflash cwn saurom 7/7.1.

Get to re-loading my apps and BAM errors. Realized since I was using stock ATT this time round had to install the ATT fix ugh. So reflash again this time with fix and I'm relieved I got my phone again.

Take this as a lesson from me and always backup your phone!!!

Psykopathik 04-23-2012 04:22 PM

I did the same thing when i tried Ics. Soft bricked. Wiped and intalled oem att rom. Had to re root. Somehow my sd card got erased. Lost everything

SkinnyPupp 04-23-2012 06:11 PM

Yeah that was IIRC. I'll take a look at prices again

604nguyen 04-23-2012 06:28 PM

noob queston....
i know if you use a custom rom, you wont receive updates....but if im rooted on the stock rom, will i still be able to receive and install the samsung updates? ie ICS?

surreyjack604 04-23-2012 06:38 PM

^ on a similar note when will we be getting the ICS update? I thought it was suppose to be this month.

Death2Theft 04-23-2012 08:30 PM

Is there any app that lets u see texts on the screen for longer than 1 second without unlocking?

Tim Budong 04-23-2012 08:44 PM

you will receive the update on your phone but won't be able to install OTA. You can still upgrade through kies but will lose root.

Simplex123 04-24-2012 04:34 PM

Which ROM are you guys running? I'm planning to flash Seraphim. Is it the only ICS ROM at the moment?

Neva 04-24-2012 04:36 PM

I'm running saurom 7.1 right now. it seems pretty normal.

That sucks hard. The whole time I was hoping that it wouldn't happen to me since there was no access to it.

Simplex123 04-24-2012 08:02 PM

^ So both of you guys flashed a stock ATT rom?

yeah, i never had this problem before, its odd.

re ATT rom: yeah i had to do a restore to OEM and the re root. i was pretty worried.

nothing but FC and freezes.

the worst thing was it had all my Ti backups and CWM backups. thank god i still had a 4GB card with an older Ti backup left.

no more "leaks" for me. wait for a proper Dev release.

oh in case no one has mentioned it yet:
T-Mobile could be launching Note with ICS soon

I bought an apple brick for usb charging at ncix rated at 5v1a same as the stock charger, yet the stock charger beside the hertz rating also has a 0.15a rating. Any idea whats up with that? My phone goes into mega slug mode when I try to charge with the apple usb brick.

Psykopathik 04-25-2012 08:36 AM

samsung chargers have the data pins (middle 2) shorted out. this tells the SAMSUNG PHONES that its plugged into the wall and then you can get the full 1A goodness flowing into your phone. the Apple cube doesnt do this.

HP touchpad chargers are like this as well.

check the charging status in settings, does it say AC or USB?

USB = shit
AC = teh win

i unplugged my HP charger and put it into my PC, it went from AC to USB.

Simplex123 04-25-2012 09:14 AM

^ yeah I use the charger that came with the playbook. It charges extremely fast

2A dude :fuckyea:

Death2Theft 04-25-2012 12:29 PM

Iphone brick says it's charging AC.
Does charging at higher than 2a cause any harm?
Otterboxes in stock may 11 woot

no because power is pulled by the phone and its limited to a specified max Amperage. have 2A is just good overhead so you can be sure the phones is taking all it can,

its like having more cock than your woman can take. pushing harder wont make it go in any farther, but having a short dick will leave her unsatisfied.
:fullofwin:

Death2Theft 04-25-2012 01:04 PM

#$@$ NCix has no wall plug chargers that are higher than 1A. Any other local suggestions? I guess i'll just use the iphone brick for now since it reads ac charging means it's getting 1A. Just wont mess with the phone while charging to avoid the laggyness.

surreyjack604 04-25-2012 01:21 PM

So if I buy a blackberry playbook charger my phone will charge faster?

probably. they are kinda hard to find now. i grabbed some from Staples a while back. still do a test on your charger. IIRC my phone charged at a rate of +5% in 20 minutes.

ninjai123 04-25-2012 03:25 PM

for those who can't afford the 4.99 on the pocketmanga app and you get advertisement you can removed them with luckypatch.
