Did anybody else's homescreen widgets get all screwed up after the ICS update?

Flashing AoCP right now. I'll see how that goes in terms of bugs and data speeds.

Any of you guys use BT Headphones? If so, are you able to use the volume controls by default or you gotta buy apps/root/tweak the settings to get it to work?

i got it from hong kong. i signed up for a contract which came with a phone and brought it back here to use.

there's your answer. Make bloody sure you have an i717 then update via ODIN instead.

same problem. im sure drow has the n7000 like i do. it can find the update but says "registration is failed" when it goes to update

call a few places and they couldnt do it.

Go to rootgalaxynote.com for intstructions to flash your rom. If you want to unlock, i used cellunlocker.net for my unlock. $7 done within 30 minutes.

Im scared to diy it ...dont want to risk bricking it. Anybody else know a.place?

it is very easy. just read through the tutorial a few times and if you get stuck on something you don't understand, ASK US.

The video tutorial done by zedomax is very clear and easy to follow.

Yeah rooting is stupid easy. If you follow the instructions to a T you will be fine. One way to really hard brick is if you flash a n7000 rom onto your i717 (i think).

what is my next step?

Download the files here and then make sure you have the right drivers. Put the superuser file onto your sd card. Then put your phone into download mode (when turning on press and hold power/volume down). Open Odin and plug your USB in. The first box should be yellow and say COM. On the right side of Odin select pda and select odin_n1717_cwm_recovery_b4.tar and then press start.
Now you restart the phone and press/hold both all 3 buttons and release only the power after the samsung logo. You then go install zip and select the superuser file and reboot system afterwards.
That's all there is to it.
