Still waiting on official ICS :okay: |

ah thats it. |
this would be a good alternative for paranoid android for the i717 [ROM][UCLD3][5/10] The Hybrid RC_IV [Status 'operational'] read.. reaD? .. READ !!! - xda-developers |
^I've always wanted to try it but that thread has too much to read so I just stick to Objection LOL |
hybrid still has bugs, at least for me. it is very nice in operation tho. just make a nandroid backup first and flash away. NOte you need the proper ICS modem as well. flashing a rom does not include the modem. there are some exceptions. I still go back to Saurom, its been the most trouble free. |
Has anyone unlocked their i717 by themselves? I've tried to use Galaxy S Unlock and SGS Unlock Tool and they both say that my phone is unlocked. Even when I type in *#7465625# it says that all the locks are off yet the sim unlock screen still comes up and it says my sim card is invalid :( |
there is no free unlock. just pay an online site to generate you a code. |
It's supposed to work for all Galaxy S/S II/Note and their variants. I've got it to work on a i9100 and people on XDA have unlocked theirs too! |

link? |
Can anyone share their battery life experience with their Gnote? I've read on XDA that people average about 4-5 hours screen time. |

3G, muted, no games, emails and interwebz. screen on meaning you devote 4-5 hrs a day staring at your phone??? seems excessive IMO. RE Unlocking: theres like 1 guy that said it works on i717. no one mentions that it works after that. I tried dialing the number you mentioned but i get a FC. I'm on Saurom so that may be why. have you tried rebooting your phone? |

At work I use it a lot, mostly browsing and chatting and some calls. I turn brightness about 20%, all sounds and vibe on, turn off wifi, turn off gps, turn off live wallpaper. I'll be done work 8 hours later and have around 30-40% left. If you play games a lot, you prob won't get more than 10 hours. This phone is so fucking awesome! Samsung made a smart move with this mini HDTV PC smartphone :) It's worth the hassle of getting car charger and/or extra battery or charger. Totally worth it! And I'll prob upgrade to Note2 when it's out. |
Oh yeah, I work at Wireless Wave and get to try all the new phones, and this one is just so much fun. The only other one I would want right now is HTC One X, but only cuz running ICS. |
ICS is overrated IMO. people act like its the 2nd coming of Christ. |
Telus is releasing ICS for their Note in early June.. So one more month from now :QQ: Hope other providers release it sooner and have Samsung release the source. http://cdn.androidcentral.com/sites/...cs_updates.jpg http://www.androidcentral.com/telus-...pdate-schedule Quote:
On the other hand my battery life SUCKS. I just got like 19H on battery but only 1 hour of screen on... I don't understand how people get 4-5 hours. I think I'm finally gonna order the extra battery on Amazon. Edit: Wow they now sell the battery by itself for about $20. http://www.amazon.com/Original-Samsung-Standard-Battery-SGH-i717/dp/B0078PJT3Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1338941187&sr=8-3 |

Buy "Anker" brand. you can get 2 and a charger for $20 and they are as good as OEM. or if you want i have 2 "fake" Samsung batteries with "Noar Field Communication" built in ;) for $10 |
^I did end up getting 2 2700 mAh Ankers with a charger on ebay for 24USD as it was a better deal. But where do you see it saying Noar Field Communication LOL I'm pretty sure it's OEM, there's a lot of sellers on Amazon that have the same thing. |
anyone have a guide to make a n7000 back cover fit on the i717? tried doing it with nailclipper, one side of the phone wouldnt close properly thanks in advance |

has anyone tried the only-one ics rom? |
^Yep it runs great. No lag or problems. The launcher/wallpapers/icons are all the same as the S III. Can't comment on the battery life though because I get shitty battery on all ROMs.. = = |
