Anjew 02-29-2012 10:51 AM

i like how they tried their hardest to snake out of doing the right thing... the lack of sincerity leaves but a bitter taste.

congrats Belaud!.

I might be alone here, but I'll give Subaru some credit, whether its Richmond Subaru or Subaru Canada. They made some poor decisions, but eventually came around and acknowledged the problem and corrected it in a way that no one really expected.

Sure, it might be the result of the pressure of social media, but we've seen plenty of companies that are even more stubborn, and never learn any lessons.

I'm not saying they're saints, but they get a +1 in my books.

Glove 02-29-2012 11:24 AM

^ I would have to disagree,

the fact that the OP had to waste a whole month and dick around and even have to resort to revscene / social media, is a testament to never go to richmond subaru.

68style 02-29-2012 11:30 AM

So, uhm, are they firing their "detailer"?

You're right; I'll give them a +1... after they take a -1,000 hit. Lets see them do something other than what they should've done from week one. Maybe they can get +999.

akira112 02-29-2012 12:22 PM

Congrats OP, glad it was FINALLY resolved.

RS FTW

TRDood 02-29-2012 02:54 PM

Happy for the OP to get a new STi replacement. We will be more relieved after Thursday night. I hope there's no rain and well lit so that OP can inspect the car fully, inside and out, including the delivery mileage on the odometer, or else there will be no second chance.

SpuGen 02-29-2012 02:59 PM

I'll give Subaru Canada the +1

But I'm still never gonna buy a car from Richmond Subaru.
They only did something RIGHT after Subaru Canada had to step in.

red_2 02-29-2012 03:02 PM

Wow congrats OP

The power of revscene..........:fuckyea:

True for me anyways... if their manager didn't yell at me when I wanted some time to think about it, I might have went back for the 2011 STI!

UFO 02-29-2012 05:26 PM

CTV's Steele on yourside reported on a totally weak story tonight. A guy brought his Landrover into Broco in Bby for some window work, and his parked car was hit and written off while in their possession. Then Broco wanted their courtesy car back earlier or something like that.

She did a horrible job trying to win favour for the Landrover's owner, at the end of the story I had no idea really what he was so upset about. He got the apology from Broco that he was looking for, and that was that. Pretty boring stuff, this Richmond Subaru ordeal would have been much more interesting if she presented it properly though.

congrats OP
you showed them you couldn't be pushed around.
enjoy your new STI, and tell your friends not to buy the paint protection packages lol

Truenosan 02-29-2012 09:22 PM

I'm glad to hear everything went well.

On a side note, would it have been possible to request taking delivery of your new STi at a different Subaru dealership? :lawl:

Thursday update! (kind of)

First off, I want to make an adjustment to what I said, Jill & Mark were both from Richmond Subaru. According to them, Subaru Canada was simply observing at this point to see where it was headed to. They were not yet involved. So the new car, refund & all the shenanigans were all essentially offered by Richmond Subaru themselves.

The reason why it took so long, as some have stated, is because the problem involves more then just me and the dealership, the car is leased, it must be approved. It's not a simple matter of "oh, here are the keys to that white one, go nuts".

The month of waiting was a bit ridiculous, yes, but the problem had escalated due to bad worksmanship, meaning the car was still in decent condition until the 2nd/3rd detailing, I would not have asked for a refund/new car if the problem had been fixed after the first week or so. I am very reasonable, this is not my life on the line, I will not demand such a considerable request from the very start. I only started to once I realized my paint was irreparable.

This was a vast amount of experience for me, as a "young" kid, I made my first major purchase myself (as in paid for myself), I was being ran in circles to begin with, but that was the reason I was able to meet this wonderful community. I will not deny it, I do not doubt for one minute, if it wasn't for you guys, I would not have got what I wanted.

Warren has told me, they are making changes to the servicing status quo of the department, which is good, a dealership that is willing to change under fire, is pretty damn good in my books, instead of trying to sweep it under the rug, they are addressing the problem.

Call me naive, stupid, too patient, too trustworthy, I'm 20, I'm the most god damn malleable metal ever, I don't hold grudges or personal vendettas against anyone/anything, I'm still too young to even purchase this STI, but I still love it even when I'm looking in my bank accounts :alone:.

In the end, they have righted what was wronged, gave me an exchange in cars, gave me a refund, gave me everything I have asked for that was on reasonable grounds, (except that free lip, damnit!)

So without further a due, please come out this friday to bryns/marine tim hortons (around 9-10PM, possibly later), check out ma new white car that was the ultimate fruition of your effort, I thank all of you from Revscene for doing what I thought was literally impossible, getting me an exchange for a car that is swirl free!

In conclusion, as a 20 year old, on this whole experience,

Thanks for reading everyone, I'll be sticking around RS for awhile :alone:

I did my own PDI after this photo :p

NSX 03-01-2012 01:02 AM

^^ even the stickers haha. Congrats

belaud 03-01-2012 01:14 AM

Oh lord, those stickers were a pain to get off the windows, I had to ask one of my detailing friends for those extra strong "goo off" red stuff, worked real fast and well.

It was fun PDI-ing my own car, stickers on everything!

There are a lot of people who never adopt that attitude towards life, although it is definitely the best and most mature approach.

So glad to see this all worked out.
