Tangerine is the best free credit card with 1% cash back and 2% in select categories (gas etc). If you travel often, I recommend the TD Visa Infinite Card (not the Aeroplan one). It gives 1.5% in Expedia dollars which u can use towards anything like hotel, car rental, vacations. When you purchase travel on Expedia, you get 4.5% back. It's best for travel and even has trip insurance etc included.

Bringing this back
TD is dropping their Rebates Rewards Visa, or so I was told in a letter from them. Now I'm looking for a good Visa to get. I already have an MBNA Mastercard, but I like having 1 of each Visa and Mastercard in case places take one and not the other

I'm pretty happy with my More Rewards Visa. Administered via Scotia Bank.
7 times the rewards when I'm at a Save On Foods or any of Jimmy's stores. 6 times everywhere else.
Not sure how that compares to my PC World Elite Mastercard as far as getting money back.
Anyway, I have so many cards that my wallet is a pain in the butt, literally. I cannot sit with it in my back pocket. I wish it was thick because of cash, Gulololol.

Chase Amazon VISA is the best if you're making purchases in a foreign currency or shop on Amazon often.
I use my card exclusively for those two purposes, but will use my main card for larger purchases off Amazon as it's pretty barebones with no purchase protection or extended warranty.
I read that they stopped taking applications a while back, but it looks like it's up again?

Yup, I use it for my weekly Bellingham shopping. Now that Costco in the US only takes Visa it is really a convenient card that has no fees or foreign exchange transaction fees. Like Razor, I also use it for Amazon.ca purchases.

I'm dropping my RBC avion once I go on the two trips ive booked with it come up.
We purchase 100% of our gas/food/Costco with the Costco Amex, so wondering what avenue I should go with for a different visa..

Seems like cashback earn rates will change and access to cash rebate (min$25) at any time now versus waiting to end of the year.
On another note I applied and is now waiting for my PC World Elite MC. I had my Airmiles MC for like 15 years and it has never served me much. I'm cancelling that for my PC one.

Still hanging on to my TD First Class Infinite because my favourite HK-style cafe takes Visa only. But Visa's been such a shit show I've contemplated whether or not to just switch to Scotia's Scene card.  | |

sorta shitty to have to keep $5000 in the account just to save the $120 yearly fee, doesn't TD have a "high interest" savings account?
also a pain in the ass to constantly have to keep transferring the funds from one bank to the other
i'm 100% with RBC and don't have to do shit all. salary goes it and visa is paid automatically.
is there an easier way once the TD account it set up to move the funds? or just interact myself $1500 at a time

Don't use it much, but perhaps email transfer will work as well.
TD's all inclusive is pretty good. I can justify it since I get a free (small) safety deposit box out of it or they can provide you with a rebate if you need a larger one. Most importantly, no monthly fees.

^Just cancelled mine recently. TBH, I only got it for a promo, but it was alright as a general use card. For the most part, I'm using Tangerine and PC Mastercard until I get the TD one. TD Infinite Cash could possibly be used for 90% of my transactions other than dining out.
