hey guys quick question, need to pick up a Note 2 ASAP i lost my phone yesterday, butttt.......

I'm looking for BNIB on Craigs List but almost all of them mention works with every carrier except Wind/Mobilicity.... if I get one that states this, will I be able to unlock it to work with Wind ?
i dont wanna grab one accidentally that won't work with Wind from a shady seller who just wants to get rid of it...

or even better do any of you know any good deals right now from any of the local Wind stores that have sales ?
I know some of them run their own promotions, thats how I picked up a brand new unlocked S3 for my girl months ago for like $300

You have to buy a note 2 that works with WIN ( I think they run on AWS network). My note is a GT-N7100 very mitn have a case on it and screen protector since day 1. Currently using with fido...

Like HappySlip said, you need an AWS Note 2. So if the ad says it won't work with Wind/Mobo, it's almost always likely because the phone being sold doesn't have the appropriate (AWS) bands to work on Wind/Mobo's 3g network.

If you can't find one on CL, you're only bet is to go to them directly (if you're looking for local options).

You can hack a regular note 2 to support the AWS bands but I'd only do this as a last resort.

Just buy one that supports AWS and make sure you test your sim card in it to make sure they're not lying. You can also tell from the model number on the phone. The regular LTE ones is SGH-i317M while the AWS one is SGH-T889V

Decided on Beanstalk+W03Tweaks and Devil Kernel. For the S-pen, found CM S-Pen Addon, Note Buddy, and Papyrus as a replacement. Had some data problems but updated APN and flashed it w/ a Rogers modem and good so far.

Hey, I am having an issue with my note 2, it will stop sending out text messages, I could receive and make calls, and use all my other functions including receiving texts but I cant send out texts. The only way I found to fix it was to do a hard reset on my phone. It is a rogers phone unlocked the free way and being used with a bell account.
Any ideas how to fix this without continuous resets, I am also looking to sell this phone in the future but I'd feel guilty selling it unless it was working 100%

are you using any apps to send your text or just what comes with your phone.

You are you using an app liek chopsms try just using what comes with the phone and see if that helps. maybe test it with a rogers sim card and see if that have issue as well. If using the rogers sim card and you have no issue then it might have something to do with the way how you unlock your phone.

Never had that before. Check the card to and contacts to make sure they're clean and inserted properly?

had that happens once but thats because i threw it down a gym mat while working out

although im having problems with media not showing

like if a friend sends me a pic on whatsapp, i can view the pic, but if i go to the gallery it doesnt show. i have to reboot the phone then it shows up on my gallery

just rescan the media. or hit refresh. as for un mounting, are you using a 32gb Sandisk card? those have a bad batch. get another brand or the 64GB model. NCIX has the 64 GB for under $50 right now. A-Data brand.

I'm looking for a Note 2 for my girl. I have been out in the cellphone game for a while now. How much are they bnib? How do I know they are not stolen? Should I wait for the Note 3 and if so when is it coming out?

She uses Fido.

CL shows $450-550 for bnib. Some of them come from "China" though.

Had the same issue recently. It will also drain your battery like a motherfucker. After some research, it turned out it's a known issue with the latest released FW. If you've rooted your phone, rollback to the previous FW. If not, disable Samsung Gallery and unmount the card when not using it. So far this seems to be working for me. I'm probably just gonna wait it out until the next revision FW comes out.

i have a question for the phone experts here...

I tried using my unlocked note 2 from asia with virgin mobile and im getting mobile internet problems (slow, cutting out, dropping net speeds) so i decided to get their galaxy s4 w/ LTE and it eliminated the problem. But now im curious, if i get a Galaxy note 2 w/ LTE, unlocked, will that work as well or does virgin mobile use something similar to wind (AWS) that will render any phone not in their line up to cause problems with their mobile internet n such?

did you get the n-7100(non lte) or the n-7105(lte)?


virgin does not use AWS, they are on the same network as bell,rogers,telus,fido etc.

i have the non-LTE note 2.

the north american lte version should work fine, but the asia lte version wont work here.

What? My note 2 lte from hk worked just fine with virgin. I was originally roaming with telus until I got a virgin SIM card.
