Hartnell is exactly the type of player the Canucks need.

If Scott Hartnell does become part of a Luongo trade with Philly, imagine the Sideshow Bob references to Hartnell's hair by Canucks game announcers.

Eh...

I'd rather get Couturier. He'd be a perfect third liner for the team right now, and a top 6 in the future. He's the same Couturier that shut down MALKIN in last seasons playoffs on Philly's third line.

But Hartnell's a hell of a player. I'd be fine with him too :lol

I at first thought you said Cloutier and was like :fulloffuck:

Did Bryzgalov die? How can Philly afford two goalies who make north of 5 mil for the next decade? And I think they need help on defence more than they need help in goal. Bryz and Luongo had very similar numbers last year. Doesn't make sense for Philly to trade for Luongo.

With the new CBA every team and buy out two contracts. So in this case they can buy out Bryzgalov once this seasons over.

Mike Oxbig 01-09-2013 06:17 PM

Flyers can buy out Bryz contract

Gilgamesh 01-09-2013 06:26 PM

^So do the flyers fork over 40 mil?

Oh didn't know that. Ok, so what's stopping the Canucks from buying out Luongo's contract then?

lol i aint no shawn79

But yeah, there's NO WAY Canucks are getting Hartnell. He's got chemistry with Giroux.

I'd be happy as hell with either Voracek [perfect playmaker for Kesler & Booth, big guy] or Couturier.

theevilslave 01-09-2013 06:27 PM

Imagine Lu going to chicago, they are in the trade rumour race as well :considered:

Cause he has value lol...

Its better to get assets via trade than buying him out and letting some other team get him for absolutely NOTHING.

Obviously I know that. But my point is if Philly can buy out Bryz, are you guys saying he has no value then? The guy had one semi bad season with a brand new team and he's being written off already? The only way I see Luongo going to Philly is if Philly can somehow trade Bryz away first.

They signed him to a stupid contract and after last season they don't want to wait since their time is now as well so they have to go for the cup.

jeedee 01-09-2013 06:37 PM

It's been rumored that Bryzgalov is staying in Russia and won't come back to Philly.

No point in trying to trade him if he won't ever come back to North America--might as well buy him out

pure.life 01-09-2013 07:00 PM

I have question about the cap. Each team is entitled to two contract buyout per year or two contract buyout for the duration of this CBA?

Whoa whoa, do I have to remind you that Pronger, the team captain, team leader, former league MVP and their best defender only played in 13 games last year? That's 13 out of 82 = 16%. Take out Hamhuis for that many games and lets see what that does to our goalies GAA. The contract was stupid but that's only to cheat the old CBA, Bryz in his last 2 years with Phoenix averaged 39 wins, a 2.40 GAA and a .921 SV%. Pretty good numbers I say. And yes, even tho Bryz sucked ass in the playoffs, his numbers were still marginally better than Luongo's. Don't believe me? Go check it out.

Late word from a GM: Vancouver's asking price for Luongo considered too high around league. Not enough leverage to ask what they are
Good to know Gillis isn't asking for trash like Bozak and Kadri :lol

BethesdaSkyrim 01-09-2013 07:58 PM

Alex Hemsky, Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Jordan Eberle & Dubnyk for Luongo, Schroeder & Edler
Timmonen, Hartnell & Simmonds for Luongo, Edler & Raymond
Weiss, Bjugstad & Jovanaski for Luongo, Tanev & Shroeder
Patrike Kane, Marion Hossa & Brian Campbell for Luongo, Edler, Gaunce & 1st 2013
Phil Kessel, Jake Gardiner, Dion Phaneuf & Tyler Bozak for Luongo, Kesler, Ballard, Raymond

DanHibiki 01-09-2013 08:03 PM
