I think Cam would be a perfect pickup and nothing having to give anything up for him is a big bonus.

So just found out this year the conferences won't play each other. The east plays the east and the west plays the west.

I think thats a pretty good call since there will be less to worry about travel but those eastern NY teams are beyond lucky being so close to each other.

I thought with this season being only intra-conference matchups that they will move Winnipeg to the West and put a team like Columbus to the East.

Barker knows he's on thin ice (pun intended) career-wise. This is one of those 'hope for the best but expect the worst' situations. You never know, he might pull his head out of his ass and be a player.

IMHO I doubt Gillis would risk trading away Luongo in this shortened season. I think the goalie tandem is perfect for a deep playoff run in case one screws up. Lu can go end of season though, where there will be more time for better negotiations.
