I don't get why are those rainboots always in style example http://km-ic.com/blog/wp-content/upl...ots-793484.jpghttp://km-ic.com/blog/wp-content/upl...rain-boots.png

They even have them for men now -_-
Anyone have any good suggestions for boots or shoes for winter? I take the skytrain to work so need a nice pair of shoes that won't get soak, looks decent and will stand the cold/snow........

Man, fuck. Someone I know has the same jacket as me. So pissed.

PJ 10-24-2012 10:46 AM

^ lol what kind

So many black jackets all look the same to the average eye anyway.

woob 10-24-2012 06:09 PM

It's a fairly distinguishable tech shell from a smaller outerwear brand. I only wear it with tech outfits or for summer work but fuck....

It's not so much that someone else has the same jacket as me, it's the fact that this person has the same jacket as me. Take that how you will and this is as far as I'm going to comment on this issue haha.

I'll post a fit in the future.

I have a question, it's directed at those, who are perhaps, more fashionable than myself.

Cuffed pant legs, creating a break between the shoe and pant leg, exposing the sock. I don't get it. Is it supposed to be fashionable somehow; by showing off a lovely pair of patterned socks, or breaking with the traditional ideals of proper tailoring, perhaps?

If someone could explain, I would be appreciative, because when I see this:

I think of this:

Enlighten me.

blee123 11-07-2012 12:44 AM

on the topic of breaks between the shoe and pants:

Q). what do you guys think of males who wear trousers that are short at the bottom along with loafers without wearing socks ?

So many fobs dress like that and I think it looks really gay and sloppy

It also gives the impression of a poser/hipster which I personally don't like

Do you just find the general look attractive, or is there a specific element of it?

I find it very odd, it's as if poor tailoring has come into vogue.

are you guys referring to this, or like shorts?

if like that, i dont know why, but i like the style personally, cant really explain why..

a few years ago i would of thought it was ridiculous though..

in the summer i did have some chinos which i wore with boat shoes in a similar fashion

MindBomber 11-07-2012 01:36 AM

Perfect picture, yes, that's what I'm referring too. I've seen it done with and without socks.

I'm still stuck on it looking ridiculous, and it likely will fall out of favour and return to looking ridiculous given time. To each his own though, if you like it, that's all that matters.

I like something like this as a summer look better.

PJ 11-07-2012 07:35 AM

I can appreciate the style, but would never dress that way myself.

unit 11-07-2012 08:33 AM

i roll up chinos all the time. even in the fall with some nice camp socks.
unless they're dressy chinos they're getting rolled.

pants are getting shorter for men, including shorts. i usually wear right at the knee or slightly above. the long cargo look is long gone.

woob 11-07-2012 09:19 AM

Okay are you referring to no break or cuffed/rolled pants? Because each has a different look.

As for that photo, his roll is sloppy as all fuck. I like my pant roll tight, so while I don't roll often, when I do, I pinroll.

I'm actually wearing pirolled chinos right now.

EDIT: example of a sick fit with tight cuffs:

StylinRed 11-07-2012 10:39 AM

no sock loafers has existed as long as loafers have ;)

rolled up pants is harsh :gay: imho why you ask? because it looks like you're afraid to get them dirty so you're rolling them up extra high

Personally, I still prefer a more classic look, but at least a neatly executed roll/cuff, like in the photo you posted, doesn't give the impression of a sloppy excuse to avoid tailoring.

Nothing against anyone who wears that look; to each their own.

zetazeta 11-08-2012 09:58 AM

I love the rolled up chinos/khakis look. I guess to each his own, but tight cuff and a loose cuff are completely different looks and both can look nice! However, I'm not a fan of loafers :P so I usually wear em with either high-top sneakers or chukka/db's

Farfetched 11-08-2012 12:04 PM

I can let it pass in casual wear, but people who wear their suits like that just look comical.

woob 11-08-2012 03:03 PM

Plus, gotta show off the selvedge, yo.

found these wingtip boots i want, but not sure what i would wear it with. any suggestions?

i was thinking more on the dressy side with black jeans, shirt, cardigan, etcetc..

woob 11-12-2012 06:24 PM

Wingtips and open lacing are inherently casual, but black is a formal colour, so this boot falls in a weird space where it's not formal enough for a suit, but too dressed up for even a business casual outfit.

I think you would get more mileage out of a similar boot in brown.
