In my nike cross trainers I wear 10, the 9's fit well but its just the color combo doesn't work for my summer wardrobe otherwise I'd keep them.

Question gues
Bought a suit last summer for a wedding, and I splurged on a fairly decent suit.
Been working out all winter and got a bit thicker/wider.
The suit I got is a 38R, and now I'm more like a 40R
Will a tailor be able to alter the jacket to fit? Or am I sol and will likely need a new suit?

General rule of thumb is that you can almost always go down, not up.

If the shoulders fit, the rest is tailorable, to a point. The amount of material in the seams will determine how much a tailor can let out your suit. Only a real tailor will be able to give you a definitive answer.

As the weather is getting warmer, can anybody recommend a good spring/summer casual outerwear that goes well with either jeans or chinos? I have the classic hoodies and jackets but I'm looking for something more fashionable for the season.

A cotton or Linen blazer is the way to go for summer

I just grabbed 2 John Varvatos ones on Nordstorm.com for under $500 for 2, shipping to Canada inclduing tax, duty and shipping

What do you guys think of this summer outfit: tank + shorts + sneakers. Or would it be better with a tee instead of a tank?

Anyone know where I can get a couple of nice hoodies? Just a simple black one

I tried on an alexander mcqueen one and it fit quite nice. I just don't want to spend $300 on a hoodie right now lol.

zetazeta 05-28-2013 07:42 AM

I got a cheap W+H one from their sample sale last year.. was like $50. That being said, the $20 or 30 hoodies from H&M aren't bad. I bought one 3+ years back that is still in excellent shape (thick and warm!).

ForbiddenX 05-29-2013 09:48 PM

Yea I got my reigning champ hoodie for about the same price a couple years ago but I've worn it out and it's time to get a new one.

Might get: PULLOVER HOODIE - BLACK | Reigning Champ

H&M doesn't seem to have any basic hoodie up on their site. Looking for a pullover.

Really like how this one looks and fits though but it's not a pullover :(

zetazeta 05-30-2013 07:50 AM

Ohh pullover. I saw a pretty nice ones from levis made and crafted, and saturdays a season or two back. They were <80$ too. See if they have anything you want this season!

StylinRed 06-03-2013 03:43 AM

For those looking for a sale

Mr.Porter has begun their semiannual sale as usual it starts as an 'up to 50% off' and as the days/weeks go by the discount can get up to 80% off

+1

By far, my favourite hoodies I have are my W+H and American Apparel.

People say you don't notice a difference in quality, but you totally do in the long run.

My H&M shirts get all stretched and warped after 1 or 2 washes.

I have American Apparel hoodies and t-shirts from 3-4 years ago that are still in perfect shape. Aside from color fading, of course.

unit 06-05-2013 09:58 AM

i dont like the fleece lining on the AA hoodies.
doesnt feel loose against a tshirt underneath it.
