They look stupid in that pic, but drop crotch sweats are used in some sick, if forward-thinking fits. Drop crotches in general are big in Asia and celebs like One Direction have been seen wearing drop crotch pants in Europe. Only a matter of time before DC floods North America.

But yes, you're allowed to dislike the style, and I understand not everyone is going to like it, but we did go from saggy baggy pants in the 90s to a slimmer cut today, so who knows. Maybe we'll all be rocking that drop crotch by 2030.

Here's an inspiration pic ft. black sweats

I would absolutely wear a black suit to the funeral, I wouldn't consider anything less formal. The details, such as tie and shirt colour, are not terribly important. It's acceptable to choose to not wear a tie; its also acceptable to choose any dark or neutral colour shirt.

Depending on the formality of the family, I would consider dark jeans or dress pants, a dress shirt, and a sweater generally acceptable for a wake; a very traditional family would likely prefer dress pants.

I've attended two funerals recently; the funerals and services were the very sad portion and formal, but wakes felt only mildly somber and were relaxed, definitely casual overall. During the wakes, I spent a great deal of time re-connecting with people I rarely see, giving hugs, and reminiscing about better times. I wouldn't worry too much about what to wear, though. People will not be concerned with your attire, as long as its not something eye catching (and thus inappropriate).

Possibly obvious, but its likely best to pass on cologne as well.

I would just add that I wouldn't make a phenomenally drastic wardrobe change between the wake and the funeral, less it detract or draw negative attention upon yourself... hence why I would go for the dress pants with a shirt or sweater look, and put the jacket on for the funeral itself. But I've thankfully (knock on wood) only had to go to one of these in my life so far so my experience isn't exactly enormous.

On another note, anyone have rec's for a decent raincoat? I've been looking at the J.Crew x Mackintosh ones but they are a bit steep in price (J.Crew...who the hell do you think you are?).

Arc'teryx Veilance has something akin to what I'm looking for as well, but at $1,195 I'm looking for more options..

you mean someone with an extremely large ass and droopy ball sacks, and chicken legs? Do the people who like these actually like them because they believe they look good, or because some celebrities wear them? When I first saw them being worn by Lil wayne and Bieber, I literally gave up on the generation that they were catering to.

dsquared makes some dope looking jeans but too bad they are so damn skinny and pricy...

anyone have a pair? how good do they last?

dolce jeans are just plain boring no matter how well they fit. Remove that gold plate and no one will even know its a dolce product

I know it's generic and there are a bunch of jackets that look like this, but does anyone know what jacket Mr. Gosling is sporting in this pic?

Anyone have experience with YSL? Just wondering if you have to size up when it comes to the shirts/jackets.

Calbeee 01-31-2013 02:41 PM

kinda off topic but, i had two uniqlo shipments from uniqlo uk shipped and entered vancouver on Jan 22nd at the same time. The first package cleared custom within a day and it was delivered the day after, the second package is still incustoms according to the tracking...

Any ideas? Who do I call?

EDIT: okay fuck I was supposed to be on copfreeze since I bought the CPs on Monday but I just ordered a pair of these sweats. If you don't mind waiting I can let you know what the quality is like. Honestly I'm not expecting much since, at the heart of it, they are just Chinese Rick Owens knockoffs, but /fa/ has decent things to say about them and for $29 shipped I don't mind experimenting.

when you get your dick ovens rip offs please do a review of their fabrics.
zara's pretty up there in terms of asymmetrical clothing and nice tones but if fabrixsquare is the poor man's entrance to goofninja i'll try it out.
i really wish tapering sweatpants like those were easier to find... :okay:

So glad I bought the 2011 ToJ peacoat before it discontinued... not a big fan of the new one!

woob 02-02-2013 12:04 AM

derp. I wore my Silent sweater out for the first time today. I think I should have sized up one. It doesn't drape quite like I want it to.

p warm though, unexpectedly. It IS 100% lambswool but it isn't that thick so I'm pleasantly surprised that it has some utility.

Also wore my CP boots for the first time. Fuck my feet hurt. Breaking in leather footwear is a bitch.
