What would be a great price range for 250CC? |

3000-4000 can get you a used Ninja 250 on craigslist |
Not totally sure, but it's about to go up. The cost of the lower cc bikes like cbr125 or ninja 250 goes up a lot due to new riders all wanting not too powerful bikes. But come winter they are sooo cheap because they are upgrading to 500's and stuff |

Yeah, spend more money on gear rather a bigger bike, I tell everyone this and can't stress it enough. Better to buy a nicer helmet and leather jacket than cheap out just to get a bigger bike. Bikes could be upgraded far more often than your gear.... |
Commuted this morning, can't find my winter gloves so wore my perforated leather ones.........Coldest I've ever been on the bike especially my hands, pulled into a closed track to take this photo those are stunt drivers around me. :) http://i.imgur.com/yVUKdwd.jpg?1 |

Hey, so if you do a motor swap on your bike and upgrade to a larger CC's than It originally came with, do you have to report to icbc and move your insurance up to the appropriate bracket? |

This leads to the reason why I didn't choose to do the upgrade. If you were to get into an accident and ICBC finds out your cc's aren't registered(trust me they will do anything to not have to pay you out). Then your SOL, all medical and any other costs. I'm not familiar with doing BBK's especially in the larger cc area, but in the scooter world once you go BBK you always run into reliability issues. Which was another reason why I didn't go with a bbk on the ruckus. Stock motor is the most reliable motor. |
A gy6 swap In a ruckus is totally different because that puts you into a difference license, not just a cost bracket for icbc. I'm licensed to ride a 51cc to infinity cc really, where as if you only have your class 5 you are licensed only for a 0-50cc motor. So my question is, if I have a 100cc motor and I wanted to swap in a 600, do I have to tell icbc my CC's are now higher? Or since the frame and stuff is still the same it doesn't matter |
the bike no longer matches the insurance so it's no longer valid. you wont necessarily get hassled for it unless you run into a cop that knows the bike and what it should look like, but if you get into an accident expect ICBC try to fuck you without buying you dinner first. not worth the risk imo. |
whos down for pre-meet for spring meet? pretty sure zilley, charlie, vale is down with me |
it does still run!! sitting since november, and started on second kick. damn son, two smoke living up to its name |
Quick question guys. What do you LEGALLY need on a motorcycle? I assume headlight and brake light are mandatory. What about turn signals? How about a speedometer, do you legally need one of those as well? |
Headlight, taillight, turn signals, at least 1 rearview mirror, i don't think you need gauges of any kind, really... it's not a safety feature... it's purely for the rider's benefit and ease of use.. easiest way would be to ask RCMP i would think.. or an inspection centre. |

Speedo always required, but there's really no way you'd get caught. hahahha. |
Took the Grom out for a 2 hour rip.. Good times.. Exhaust header on order. Fender Eliminator kit getting picked up from Blaine tonight. https://scontent-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...2b&oe=558F038A https://scontent-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...27&oe=5583DEB1 https://scontent-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...99&oe=55716D55 |
actually, after moving from a scooter to CBR 125 then Ninja 500, I found that the Ninja is really awesome for beginners. It starts off like a scooter but has enough power to go on highway. Almost forgot to mention, if budget is a concern, you really should consider the Ninja since they are cheap compare to CBR125, CBR250, Ninja300, etc. Parts are aplenty due to the fact that it has been around for 25 years. |
thinking of getting a grom... worth it? someone educate me on it a bit? Looking for something cheap on insurance and just pure joy ride for fun and easy to store etc. *i've had 7 bikes with 10+ yrs exp. so no i'm not a newbie... |

she just doesn't get it :p |
Don't bother off craigslist.. You can get one cash out the door for $3800 @ Honda Center.. Just walk in with cash and be serious. I got mine for $3500 cash (before the dollar went up).. Its a great bike, I get more looks than any other bike. It's nimble, has a little bit of punch. but if you're keen on speed then walk away.. It's not fast, Its great for my city commutes. I love it to bits. Its a tiny bike so maneuvering is easy throughout the city. I have a bigger bike for the hwy roads and such, but honestly I love riding this bike in the small back roads where there's tonnes of twisties. We went through maple ridge to the airport, then down river road to Kanaka way through so twisties by Kanaka falls, around 250th. Then over to Golden Ears park to the beach and back along Dewdney to the back roads of Ridge and Pitt meadows. It was great.. Sometimes I dont feel like going to fast and really enjoy the back country scenic routes. |
