wouldn't buy either. you can make real, quality drinks cheaper and better with real equipment.

fresh milk and freshly ground espresso is where it's at. once you grind espresso the internal oils degrade. that's why you grind it when you use it.

-stove top espresso maker
-hand powered milk throther
-espresso grinder

-for a regular coffe nothings better then a french press. it only takes a few minutes longer then boiling water in a kettle.

This is true.. but... how long does it take, including cleaning up just to drink a cup of coffee?

The Cadbury Hot Chocolate was such a big disappointment, didn't taste great. :okay:

I guess that's a drawback of the Tassimo, is that you can't simply adjust the size of the serving. :ahwow:

Just brewed a larger cup of coffee with my T55 (has a +large or -small serving setting built in), it seemed to have a similar strength to what it was in fully automated mode. Note that i didn't manually add water, just selected the + on the machine and then brewed. :concentrate:

You can on mine. If you want to short pour you press the button where you want it to stop pouring. To long pour you press and hold the button it when it starts 'finishing' and the green light is blinking, it'll keep pouring until you let go of the button.

The thing is you gotta be right there to do it, can't pre-set it.

So as much as I like my tassimo, I grew tired of the instamilk crap quick. Went to the mall to check out frothers, and was gonna buy this $100 one that keurig has since I tried it at my brothers.

Stopped by the nespresso booth to waste some time, and try and weasal a free sample lol. The salesman was bored so he went through his spiel with me.

The nespresso makes a good espresso, but, I don't think its worth the price tag, and the tassimo coffee really isn't bad. Asked him about the frothers, and I ended picking up a frother for $100. It does both a hot froth and a cold froth, plus, makes steam milk for those days I want milk and honey, or hot chocolate.

Btw, Nespresso seems to be the Apple of the one cup brew machines. Will probably own one eventually lol. For those that want a frother, its called Aeroccino 3.

so your frother is not used in conjunction with your tassimo correct?

vafanculo 01-13-2013 10:24 AM

Not at all. It looks like a coffee bean grinder, but instead of grinding, it froths.

I'm loving my tassimo, but even with the double t cups it's still not enough :okay:

nabs 01-13-2013 02:11 PM

So im going to costco right now with my mom to purchase one of them, either keurig or tassimo. Let's hope this goes well.

If you guys have any quick reccomendations/reviews on anything avaiable right now, please reply as i will check this thread before selecting one.

Thanks.

Make sure you cut open the chocolate syrup t-disk and pour the rest of the syrup in your drink after! Pretty sure it's a design flaw because there is at least half of the syrup still left in the disk after the brew.....=\

depends if you want a coffee maker or a coffee/latte maker.
costco is good on packages that come with x amount of free capsules though.
i think my friend got a keurig and got 50 or 100 free kcups or something.

You're suppose to shake the T-Disc first or you can heat up the chocolate to get it all out.

nabs 01-13-2013 04:49 PM

yeah my mom was adamant on a Tassimo. so we got the tassimo with 86 t-cups.

Yeah thats what i ended up doing after searching around for answers.

Just let it soak in some warm water for a little bit and then proceeded with making that hot chocolate. Tasted that much better! :concentrate:

Also jumped on to the Buy 2 Get One at London Drugs last weekend, got a Gevalia Caramel Mac & Vanilla Latte and a Second Cup Paradiso Dark.

HonestTea 01-14-2013 06:47 PM

Just go here and enter the Model and Date Code.

Recall

I'm assuming that'll be the site that'll send you a new T-Disc holder.

Your serial has to be under the recall in order to get the new holder. I entered mine in and it doesn't need the new holder. I'm wondering if it's the earlier models that got recalled?

nabs 01-14-2013 09:25 PM

well i got it from costco so i can return it if it fails anyways. just don't want anyone getting hurt is all.
