what i find cool is the health app included

very much like Nokia Wellness Centre except it looks better

and the IR blaster something i missed in newer nokia devices that they had in the older ones
hmm definitely making a decision of switching easier and easier

That's not to say other companies aren't become more and more ridiculous by the minute either.

These companies are absolute geniuses. They bring out new phones with things to make people even lazier than they already are and people go crazy.

old phones used to come with IR blasters all the time (early/mid 2000s) they cut them out to make slimmer phones
I was excited that my n95 had it cuz it felt like a swiss army phone ;)

DanHibiki 03-15-2013 01:17 AM

so the only benefit of wireless charging is that you can put it down instead of plugging it into a cable?

if so i prefer the cable since you can still use it while it's charging.

I wish they would have gesture to rotate the screen to landscape instead of only auto rotate and off. Sometimes when I'm lying in my bed and using my phone, it rotates when I don't want it to. And the responsiveness is not very good compare to apple product.

I am curious at how the screen looks, and if it's as good as the HTC One X's (I haven't seen the HTC ONE's screen in person).

Snapdragon 600 confirmed for NA S4
Quote:

At yesterday's big Samsung Galaxy S4 announcement, the manufacturer revealed that multiple versions of the phone would be produced running differing CPUs, as was the case with last year's Galaxy S3. Certain markets, including the U.S., will get a 1.9GHz quad-core chip powering their S4, while other territories, including the UK and Europe, would get an octa-core Samsung Exynos 4 chip at 1.6GHz.

However, there was some confusion as to exactly which quad-core chip would be fitted in the quad-core Galaxy S4 -- Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 600, or the slightly older Snapdragon S4 Pro. Today a Qualcomm spokesperson has confirmed to us that the quad-core Galaxy S4 is indeed packing the faster Snapdragon 600 chip, so hopefully we can all avoid any more sleepless nights worrying about that one.

Likewise, when I'm lying in bed playing with my phone I'm usually on my side and it always rotates when I don't want it to. So I usually have screen rotate off because it drives me crazy sometimes.

Samsung needs retail stores like Apple store.. Not like the one at Metrotown..

If Samsung can offer the same shopping/support experience as Apple retail stores.. A lot of people would switch to Samsung..

They should just change their name to Snapple and be done with it.

That doesn't fix the problem tho.

So far even with the Qi standard that some companies use, the different charging pad still isn't charging devices from other manufactures. ie: Nokia 920 and Nexus

The wireless pad still need to get connected. What you'll end up having is multiple charging pads with usb connected to it instead of multiple usb cables

i hope the battery on S4 doesn't die like within half a day due to high res screen and the octacore. My S3 battery is usually in the 20~30% range by the end of the day (4:30 pm) with auto SYNC off and gmail and golauncher running in the background.

Doubt it. Newer CPU's always have lower power requirements. The same goes for screens. Plus it's a 2600Mah battery. Should work out to the same.

exdee 03-17-2013 11:05 PM

Should last you a bit more than a day with usage IMO

mr_chin 03-18-2013 01:36 PM

It really depends how you set up your phone and how bright and all that kind of stuff. I hate it when people bitch about battery when they have all sync on, full brightness, and all these apps running in the background. I mean, learn how to use your phone before you bitch.

Anyways, looks like the s4 is gonna be packed with tons of new features. I'm tempted to get it but I just got my s3 recently.

Heard it'll be 400 off contract.

400 British Pounds, maybe. I'm suspecting it'll be much more than that once it arrives here.
