Went to TD bank and took out a bunch of money then opened up an account at RBC. Now I am able to sent $1000 via interact to coinsquare. Costs $25 but it's better than nothing and coinsquares prices are market value.

I dont understand why GTX 1070 prices are so inflated on Craigs.

But RX580 isn't.

DragonChi 01-18-2018 12:04 AM

RX 580s are supposed to retail for 200 MSRP USD when they first came out. That in Canadian is $260...

The GTX 1070 is easier to over clock maybe. Don't need to mess with the bios.

Times change and supply is super limited.

ime2006 01-18-2018 12:42 AM

I called in ATIC Computers today.

They happen to have 4 of MSI GTX 1070
They said 795 cash price, or 815 Credit Card price.
After tax would be 890 and 910

And this post on Craigs from yesterday just happened to have 4 of these selling around similar price.

At those prices you might as well just buy what you planned on mining

Oh and don't think that you'll be able to unload your video card at retail price once they are obsolete. Mining cards running at 100% full throttle, usually overclocked, for years on end, in a flooded market... Well gamers are going to get some pretty good deals let's just say that :D

It's fun playing with new computer hardware. I pretty sure I can get 50% of what I paid for the GPU's.

Edit: Also at the end I will have a bunch of GPU's to make sick PC.

SkinnyPupp 01-18-2018 02:10 AM

You might get 50% of 50% of its retail value LUL

I do agree that mining in itself can be fun

If you're using it to subsidize a gaming card, I say go for it (but at these prices that's hardly worth it)

If you're looking at it as an investment... it's just crazy to think it's better to sink that much money into depreciating hardware rather than putting it towards the coin itself.

BlackV62K2 01-18-2018 08:58 AM

Money finally deposited in an exchange after 15 business days and everything is back up again.....

I do both but it's really hard to fund an account. Just got verified by Quad but all their funding options are down. The 6 GPU's I am mining with have all been paid off. Right now going .2 ethereum every 9 days when the new GPU's get here I will double that.

use NowInStock.net Canadian Product Availability Tracker and In Stock Notification System and get a family members credit card so you can get around the limit. Ordered 2 Asus ROG Strix 1080ti's today.

Going to try to mine something more profitable than Ethereum like Zcash. Roi should about 6 months. Just got to find some reasonable priced PSU's.

For anyone depositing via interact online coinsquare is pretty much instant but quad takes way longer because they have to manually enter it in. Sent it at 7p.m. last night and still nothing.

Generic computers cancelled both my orders after they charged my credit card because I put in my cell phone number and not my home number linked to my credit card. really wanted those 1080ti's.:mad::mad:

Quad's first Interac Online is manual. Subsequent ones are instant.

Don't have any 1080ti's the 2 I ordered from generic computers got canceled.

My 1070's are getting the same rate as you. Have a 1070 and 1070ti coming soon those have shipped.

Edit: Just got an Asus Rog Strix 1080ti from mem express.

Next rig rig will be a mix of 1070's 1070ti's and 1080ti's.

I ordered 2 Zotac 1070 ti Mini from Amazon few days ago.
But it stays at Delivery Estimate....lol

I wonder if they ever will ship them out.

I also have an old rig.
The mother board is Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H (rev. 3.1)
It has got 4 PCI-E in total.
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
2 x PCI Express x1 slot (The PCIEX1_2 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX4 slot.) (Note 4)
(All PCI Express slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)

But i m not sure, if it will work with 4x GTX 1070.

Fingers crossed for now.
