This would immediately raise my suspicions and I would get my cash out of there quick.

Hong Kongers getting a $500 USD payout from the government... I wonder how many will invest it in BTC and drive the price up? 4Head

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Canada-based stock exchange operator TMX Group is launching a cryptocurrency brokerage.

TMX said Thursday that the subsidiary, Shorcan Digital Currency Network, had partnered with Paycase Financial on the initiative, which would focus on bitcoin and ether at launch, which is slated for the second quarter of 2018.

Paycase chief executive Joseph Weinberg called the brokerage "the first ever public crypto brokerage desk by an exchange," saying the new partnership "represents the true institutionalization of cryptocurrencies as an asset class."

He went on to say:

"Paycase's partnership with the TMX solved a major problem in the blockchain ecosystem. With this partnership, we have built the first major bridge between the crypto world and the traditional financial markets."

In additional statements, a representative for TMX Group framed the move as one aimed at providing new kinds of services to its client base, and is undoubtedly directly at tapping some of the demand for cryptocurrency buys within the Canadian market.

As new technologies continue to reshape the global financial industry, we continue to explore new ways to evolve our business to address client needs in both traditional and non-traditional markets," John Lee, managing director of enterprise innovation and product development, said of the pending launch.

Wow an ecxchange that actually lets you know the people behind it! I wonder if they will have a physical location!

I was jk btw. Making fun of those shady exchanges with no real contact info or addresses... I know we need to use them a lot of the time, but man I wouldn't recommend anyone leave much money on them

SkinnyPupp 03-24-2018 01:57 AM

In other news, the country of Malta bought the Binance exchange, and Yahoo! Japan is starting their own legit exchange as well

Razor Ramon HG 03-24-2018 09:15 AM

I don't think Malta bought Binance. They are just opening an office there which I speculate to be their eventual main office so they can offer fiat pairing. They are also receiving regulatory pressure from HK and JP.

Me too I am dying. Just bought Assassins Creed Origins and it just runs like shit

What would you consider a "good" price for one? Stores in Japan are selling them for $400

Or are you just going to wait until the mining market moves away from them and just gets flooded with cheap 580's

I bought my for for $339 each back in November. $400 right now seems like a good deal. I would pick up some more at that price.

SkinnyPupp 03-24-2018 08:45 PM

I was wrong, it's more like $450

So fucking annoyed

Not in a hurry since I have a GTX 1060 6GB already, it's just that an AMD-based eGPU will run better with my Mac.

I would say if it's 400 CAD taxes in for a 8GB model, it's alright. You're still paying like 30% more since you could've gotten the same models for $310-320 last summer, but what can you do?

I think the supply is getting better though. There's random availability on Amazon for 8GB ones around $340-380 depending on model.

I backordered a Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB for $340 CAD. It has the same shitty cooler as the RX 480 though, so I'm not sure if I will like it.

SkinnyPupp 03-24-2018 09:33 PM

$340 CAD? I guess that's my new target price.. $263 USD man that's almost MSRP

The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is that these cards will inevitably be VERY cheap, and it will feel foolish to pay MSRP, let alone anything higher than MSRP

If mining covered the spread that's something to consider, but calculators show like $1 USD per day profit right now, and that's at 24/7 mining at peak efficiency.
