Fortunately for me, they took an extremely long time to approve my KYC, so I never deposited with them. I remembering reading some shady shit about them even before they went tits up.

It all smells bad...

Lost banking. Takes months for withdrawals. All this since the beginning of 2018. Writing on the wall.

Fraud.

SkinnyPupp 02-06-2019 09:47 PM

The exchange I go to stopped taking fiat deposits WutFace

Rallydrv 02-07-2019 01:51 PM

only guy to take $ with him to the grave

Eatman 02-07-2019 02:08 PM

i'm a victim of this whole mess.. the whole damn thing is super shady too.. it doesn't make sense for just 1 person to hold the keys to the entire cold storage(if they even exist). There are theories that quad was a front or shell company for bitfinex and all those other exchanges tied to crypto capital.

Also, owner decides to build a damn orphanage in India?! and the fucker "dies" in parts where it's known for people to fake their deaths and pay for death certificates...

Always buy. It will only go up in the long run. Plus don't forget to USE IT. That's what makes it worth existing. If it's lower than what you bought it for, just buy more and spend that.

Just curious, if it costs you guys 2 - 5% in fees to buy it. Why would you want to spend it. That's like paying a tax just to use the currency.

Because sometimes you are buying at places where the only other options are even more expensive

Same.

And I don't store my cryptos on an exchange website. I store them in my own wallet. Seems like common sense but I guess not.

I withdrew about $20,000 off Quad back in October. Took about 2 weeks. I was probably one of the last batch of people to receive their funds.

Sucks, I always had a good experience depositing into Quad before transferring to Binance. I'll have to use Kraken now for fiat transfers.

But yeah, writing was always on the wall. If you frequented their subreddit and /r/BitcoinCA it was pretty common knowledge they were funding withdrawals with deposits, just no one could confirm.

That Etherium issue last year really started the downward spiral.

Haven't encountered that yet. What are you buying? I do have friends who have used it to purchase drugs online. They shipped it as a drug testing kit.

Coworker left $60,000 USD on the exchange over a year waiting for a dip. Kinda painful cause $60,000 on index investing woulda net him a decent amount for retirement at 25.

Drugs are one big example. Not all countries are as forward thinking as Canada, and buying weed online isn't as easy as going to a government run website and using your credit card LUL

60g in an index for a year and he can retire??? What the hell are you smoking and what index fund are you hawking.

Non of the major indice did more than 20% a year during the epic decade long bull run. If he put that money in last year at the top of the market he would of came out negative.

Even if he double his money you still can’t retire of that amount of money.

Unless you mean he meant to put 60g on bitcoin when it was in the 3 digit range

Probably Shakepay. Works well for me now that Quad is gone.

gerbs meant if the 60g was put on a typical index fund now instead of losing the money during the quadriga fiasco his coworker would have made a good chunk of change by the time they retired.

SkinnyPupp 05-12-2019 05:46 PM

If he had $60K to fuck around with willy nilly, I'm sure he has plenty of more where that came from. He'll be fine.

The memes will soon be arriving.

SkinnyPupp 05-26-2019 07:12 PM

Bitcoin is dead, remember?

Oh man, the memes are what got me through 2018s crypto apocaplyse. So good!

eclipseman 06-26-2019 11:14 AM

Surprised noone has commented in a while, especially after the past week or two...

What a time to be alive (if you're holding btc).

Liquid_o2 06-26-2019 11:35 AM

My money that I invested during the last boom has finally recovered. Yay!

Razor Ramon HG 06-26-2019 12:49 PM

Lol, BTC just dropped like 10% in a matter of minutes.

Cashed out last year and bought some ETH a month ago when it was $180 after noticing a slow uptrend in crypto.

:fuckyea:

Crypto is most likely going to do a slow bull until it ramps up to when your parents start asking you about BTC again. History always repeats itself.

A new service to try is Coincurve.com, which is Vancouver-based and a non-custodial wallet service for smaller amounts. Safer way to invest in Bitcoins as they do not hold your coins.
