dont even bother with Nvidia hardware
gtx 680 yields 100 kilohash/s
which probably has a pathetic dollar to kWh ratio as a fat PS3 (assuming a fat PS3 under load is 200W and 600W for a gaming PC)

where can i use litecoin?

are there exchanges? like mtgox

Currently you can trade on BTC-e.com. mtGox (the main exchange for BTC) is adding it very soon, at which point the price will be standardized I think.

Still worth it IMO. Power consumption is lower with scrypt

SkinnyPupp 04-05-2013 05:29 PM

First person who sets up an LTC wallet and posts their key here gets some LTC

Leetastic 04-05-2013 05:34 PM

Deposit Address: LV7zUndhipHGWcQ3erAh4WnZVpy1u6yn5t

SkinnyPupp 04-05-2013 06:35 PM

OK I just put 1/3 of my BTC into LTC. I'll do a deposit and send some coins now :)

JaPoola 04-05-2013 06:54 PM

All this coin bullshit is fine and dandy for now. Just wait till the government decides to get their share.

Just wondering, what cards are you running and how much khash are you getting a second?

SkinnyPupp 04-05-2013 07:01 PM

OK I'll donate after they lower the tx fee.. it was set really high when the network was small, but should be lowered soon. I promise both of you will get coins!

Not much, just doing it casually for now. Had to liquidate one of my GPUs for some cash, but I will get another one soon :D

Just like how they put an end to torrent right?

SkinnyPupp 04-05-2013 07:07 PM

rsx 04-05-2013 07:11 PM

I'm still lost.

What do you mine with a 'block' and how does mining it for x amount of minutes turn it into money?

JayEch 04-05-2013 07:14 PM

It doesn't turn into money, it IS money.

Are you doing this over in Korea atm?

Ulic Qel-Droma 04-05-2013 08:24 PM

I think all the new ppl that get into this will learn a lesson in the near by future, that money is never money, until it is realised.

until you have it in your wallet, and spend it.

things priced in BC are constant. your BC value doesn't rise and fall in that circle.

but if you're speculating and converting it to USD. it isn't worth what it's worth until you convert it.

just like a stock is not real money, until you cash out. until then, it's just "paper", and holds no real value.

remember that. it's not real till you cash out.

just like chips in a casino.

Wow, another weirdo has created a currency without any backing or guarantee of any sort.

I should start my own e-currency call questionable-coins, and make it worth 10mil USD for one QC, because I said so.

Yeah, just checking prices right now.. Litecoins are slowly getting support.

Prices are jumping over the place lately. Went from like under a dollar to 4.6 within a week. Dropped back down to 3.25 yesterday, went up to 4.6 today, and back to 3.2.

I'm buying some BTCs later and converting them to LTCs. Probably won't see any significant gains for a few months though.

Sorry for being so ignorant about this, but...someone had x amount of real dollars, converted it into said e-currency and scattered it across the web to be mined?

:okay:

God I feel so lost with technology.

Gerbs 04-05-2013 09:49 PM

it hit 2.99/ litecoin
