That's exactly what they're doing... the market is small enough to be able to do so. This will be the last time this happens though I think, if Gox starts selling it

Let the idiots lose their money, get in on the ground floor :D

CP.AR 04-06-2013 06:41 AM

just got it setup and joined a pool

15khash/s on my laptop?

Comparing to you guys' 400 something khash I'm guessing it's shit?

Razor Ramon HG 04-06-2013 06:43 AM

Feels bad to be looking at BTC-E without having any bitcoins myself and missing opportunities..

Going to log out until I invest my money.

:okay:

I've got a i5-3570k gtx670 that's been collecting dust for the past few months. Time to make it do some work!

Hondaracer 04-06-2013 11:21 AM

so i have everything running, currently my litecoin wallet is updating the remaining blocks and i have the GUI miner synced with the worker i created with Coinotron [is this a good mining pool?]

so once i've began mining and have LTC in my wallet, what is the procedure to turn the LTC into USD? and how do you get the USD into my bank account?

dont have any plans on converting it anytime soon but would like to setup everything i need in order to have the payouts etc? The trading platform?

Currently I'm getting 450 khash with my 6950. i: 18

I can hear my fans going pretty hard (hard being more than the typical silent) should I be monitoring temps or anything at all?

As well, what is a reasonable stale/invalid rate? Currently I'm getting like 400? My card is slightly upped but only overclocked with AMD's overdrive?

Hondaracer 04-06-2013 02:29 PM

Also in the GUminer where I select the device I'm using to mine the default option is the 0-0 one that is not my video card and the other option is my CPU processor, is the 0-0 option the GPU option even though it doesn't say my card?

^^

yes.

I think GUIminer's khash stats are inaccurate. The pools always report my speed differently. Also, I was letting it run overnight with a low tc (sub-2000, i think), and i had 300 accepted shares to 150 stales. Currently, with tc set at 15508 and i:19, I already have more shares in an hour, and only a couple stales. My khash is reading slower than last night, as well.

Razor Ramon HG 04-06-2013 09:33 PM

Day traders may want to look into PPC. Very low risk with the low cost atm.

Hondaracer 04-07-2013 09:56 AM

so mined for roughly 10 hours over last night, managed 0 accepted and 30000 stale??

any ideas why?

ryugeeh 04-07-2013 10:07 AM

^ Try a different pool. I've tried coinotron for the past year and it's always given me problems.

Are you mining for LTC? The port should be 3334. Your other settings look fine. My stale rate is about 5%, and i get a bit more than 2 shares accepted per minute.

Last night, I tried mining through the command-line with the latest cgminer (2.11.4). I got 450 accepted and 50 rejected over 6 hours of operation. The cgminer that came with GUIminer is 2.11.3, and that seems to work better. I get about 130 shares accepted per hour.

yeah i noticed the same thing. Is there a better application to figure out my hashing rate. When i go on coinotron my hash rate is about 50-100 h/s differnt

It makes it pretty hard to play around with my overclocking settings to get the best rates.

Can someone send me some litecoins to see if I set up my litecoin wallet correctly :fullofwin:

I believe this is the address LeXXBWZ76BPZ425qhZFa2eBEH3YYMPKgm2

Hmm that port error seemed to be the problem changed it to 3334 and instantly was getting accepted shares so far 9 accepted 0 rejected in about 3 minutes

So what do shares convert to in actual LTC's?

Still worth it IMO. Power consumption is lower with scrypt

Is your numbers in your article based on running 24/7?

I also noticed you only listed the power consumption of your card...shouldn't you consider system consumption if you are looking at net profit

670 sli/3570k/16gb ram i think i'm looking at 250-300khash/s max with around 600W :(

I'm consuming ~205 watts, at the moment. Per day, that's around 5KWh. That's about 50c a day, if you go by 10c/kwh. The estimates forecast 1.5LTC/day with my lightly tweaked 7870. LTC is going for $2.50 per, right now. There's some profit to be made.

Currently you can trade on BTC-e.com. mtGox (the main exchange for BTC) is adding it very soon, at which point the price will be standardized I think.

with this BTC-e.com are there any actually like legit ways to deposit USD? those platforms they use to deposit money are all like sketchy Russian sources?

what are you guys who are actively trading LTC using to deposit/withdraw funds?

its not worth the money to mine on NV cards

I can sell you LTC for $5/ea

godwin 04-07-2013 01:30 PM

I highly doubt you will be running around 6Amp.. use one of those plug based watt meters or a clamp multi meter for a more accurate count if you are that concerned.. and use Linux CLI instead of Windows will free up more resources on your GPU.

How do you actually get the LiteCoins into the LiteCoin wallet?

I'm using coinotron and I can see what I've earned on there but do I need to transfer that to the wallet?

I'm currently getting 320khash/s with a 7870XT.

Hondaracer 04-07-2013 03:11 PM

there is auto transfer once your at a certain amount of LTC from what i understand

create an address in your wallet and direct Coinotron to send LTC there.

ForbiddenX 04-07-2013 04:21 PM

I see what my address is now. I think it's LLrU2yuK9sYbrKGXNfo2XqhvmsFETdU7LB

So if I do mining on a different computer it won't have the same wallet? Or what happens if I format my computer will I not be able to get my LTC again? I never created an account for the Litecoin Wallet I just see the address...

Hondaracer 04-07-2013 04:41 PM

back up your info in the menu it will save the data file and i'm asuming you can sync any wallet with that data?

Gerbs 04-07-2013 04:46 PM

if anyone have litecoins they want to sell me pm me. I just don't want to link my credit card to btc e and get shitty rates on can to usd
