LTC is the silver to BTC's gold.

Hash rates can swing wildly, if you go by the 2 second average displayed in cgminer. Your average should be stable, though. My 7870 goes to 2s highs of 450, and lows of 280. Average is a solid 345.

Meeting up with someone to get like 3 - 4 bitcoins worth. Hope it goes well lol

Anything i should watch out for when buying locally

Razor Ramon HG 04-11-2013 07:01 AM

BTC dropped to 60, LTC down to 1.5

Luckily I converted to USD prior to the crash.. LOLOL

Got a buy order at $50, cmon!

EDIT: Alright, guess $60 was the lowest BTC was going to hit. Cashed in on LTC at 1.9.. :lol

EDIT2: Uh-oh, should've waited more for LTC to drop to 1.7 again :lol

yray 04-11-2013 07:17 AM

mt. gox is closed for market cool down :troll:

Razor Ramon HG 04-11-2013 07:27 AM

Damn, LTC fell more than I expected.

yray 04-11-2013 07:29 AM

someone buy 1 BTC for me... my main comp is down :fuuuuu:

cavirtex is down too :fulloffuck:

Razor Ramon HG 04-11-2013 07:36 AM

I believe crash it over. BTC low was $55. LTC low was $1.19.

I bought in at $1.90 thinking it was done... :ohgodwhy:

Least I didn't lose money!

SkinnyPupp 04-11-2013 07:47 AM

There really needs to be more than one exchange. Either that, or they need to hire a new IT crew. Allowing traders to do multiple trades within 1 second basically turned normal trading into a DDOS. That, and there is probably a real DDOS at the same time :lawl:

Anyway here's everyone's chance to get in near the bottom again :fullofwin:

Razor Ramon HG 04-11-2013 07:54 AM

Still shaking my head right now.. bought too soon.

On the bright side, I'll probably be able to sell LTC to break even whereas a bunch of people got fucked :lol

Wormiez 04-11-2013 07:55 AM

Which website does everyone use to buy Bitcoin?

SkinnyPupp 04-11-2013 08:12 AM

The main one is MtGox, which handles 80% of all exchanges. But they just took the site down, so the economy is crashing. Obviously some things need fixing...

It this LTC's chance to take over? ;)

Hondaracer 04-11-2013 09:14 AM

Hopefully my cavitrex account gets verified sooner than later

In what has to be the most accurate currency crash prediction ever made, bitcoin crashed today from $266 to a low of $105 in a rapid “free fall” market crash pattern, erasing $1 billion in currency valuation in a matter of hours. I openly and publicly predicted all this would occur yesterday, in both a Natural News article as well as national radio via the Alex Jones Show broadcast aired on over 120 am stations.

But the real story here isn’t that I accurately made this dire prediction less than 24 hours before it took place; the real story is that this crash was almost certainly caused by a covert central bank “stress test” of the pliability of the bitcoin market. That’s all explained below.

Step 1) Central banks buy up massive quantities of bitcoin currency, driving the prices into the stratosphere and encouraging millions of people around the world to jump on board the “get rich” bandwagon.

Step 2) Once bitcoin valuations reach a sufficient level of insanity, start a massive selloff by dumping the bitcoins you already bought onto the market, offering them for sale at any price (i.e. sell into falling prices, accelerating the loss in valuations).

Step 3) Watch panic take hold as the bitcoin crash accelerates, ending in a catastrophic wipeout of “valuation” of all bitcoins.

Step 4) Find “victims” of the bitcoin crash who can tell a good sob story for the mainstream media about how they invested little Johnny’s college money in bitcoin and lost it all. Roll them out on CNN and MSNBC where they cry on camera and talk about how they were ripped off by bitcoin and now they only trust the government from now on.

Step 5) Demonize bitcoin by characterizing it as a “libertarian pyramid scheme.” Lash out against both decentralized currencies and libertarians.

Step 6) Once the demonization gains traction, have traitors in the U.S. Congress announce a “Consumer Currency Protection Act” that outlaws non-central bank currencies such as bitcoin. It’s all “for your safety,” of course. Shut down all online bitcoin wallets and exchanges, calling them “criminal pyramid schemes” and arrest a few people using bitcoin to send a warning message to the rest.

That is some CiC shit right there :lawl:

Oh I knew that would be good reading as soon as I saw the name Alex Jones.

Out of all the nutbags in all the land, that guy singularly takes the cake as the nuttiest nutbag to ever bag a nut.

What I'm getting at is he's fucking nuts.

I don't doubt its possible...fuck anything is possible-but show me one ounce of fucking proof dude.

mos_skeeto 04-11-2013 01:07 PM

^ Glad someone else thinks he is a nut. BTC problems in the last two days are due to how the intefrace sites are still very immature and cannot stand DDOS attacks or a ton of people running transactions. The core of bitcoin is good but right now any type of interfacing still needs work and that includes exchanges and wallets.

Whenever I hear the words "Natural News" or "Alex Jones" I instantly stop paying attention

Also, there needs to be competitors to Mt. Gox.

if there are competitors to mtgox, then there will be price disparities.
this will allow for arbitrage lol.

mtgox just has to up their support.

in the real world, you hardly ever see multiple exchanges hosting the same product.

Presto 04-11-2013 02:46 PM

For those getting khash discrepancies between your miner and the pool stats. It could be due to hardware errors. Unfortunately, if you're using GUIminer, it'll only show you a few stats like khash, and accepted and stale shares. If you use cgminer, directly, then you will see a lot of other information that can be useful to mining efficiently. You can also make live adjustments to the GPU.
