At that speed you will be lucky to mine 0.2LTC/day. Also difficulty increases 20% in about 30 min

I wish I can use my rig at home... but I donated that to my dad to play Flight Simulator when I left... that's got a 6950 in it and more fans than Justin Bieber

:okay:
Maybe when i move to HK in half a year or so I'll build a rig just for mining

Could you teach your dad how to pause mining when he wants to play games? 6950 would do well for you

imgur: the simple image sharer

Whats my username that i insert into guiminer

i think i typed from username in and mined an hour for free :(

You may have been mining nothing. What messages did you see? If it's working, you should see a khash number on the bottom right of guiminer.
If you see khash, then it's mining, but you may be getting errors. Post a screenshot of the console tab and summary tab.

Gerbs 04-08-2013 09:07 PM

I mined for like 1 hour and nothing showed up on my accounts. Or am i suppose to mine atleast 6+ hours for something to show up?

What does your summary look like? You should have a speed and some numbers in accepted and stale shares.

Seems a little high to run all day long? I've got about $300 in noctua fans in it already :/

yeah i have been farming for 3 days. my card is at 99%, 73degrees, and 45% fan speed

any problem keeping it on indefinitely?

Gerbs 04-08-2013 09:30 PM

This summary is as of right now mined for only was 45 min tops?
Im at 55degrees atm lol idk if thats healthy fans running in at 100% with some noctua fans

Presto 04-08-2013 09:35 PM

It's mining, but all your shares are stale, therefore, invalid.
Let's see your default tab.
Also, what kind of GPU are you running?

Gerbs 04-08-2013 09:37 PM

Here you go thanks for the help!

im using a 7870

Presto 04-08-2013 09:42 PM

Coinotron LTC should be Port 3334, and try setting intensity to 18, to see if you can squeeze out more khash

I'm using a 7870, as well. I have it clocked 700/1400 and getting 300khash

Gerbs 04-08-2013 09:47 PM

how long does it take for me to get a accepted

i just got 3 THANKS ALOT! it works :)

How long should i keep this on for at 99% gpu usage it seems unhealthy for graphic card idleing at 57 degrees

Presto 04-08-2013 09:48 PM

At your rate, within 1 min or so.

EDIT: Great! FYI: On the Coinotron site, the confirmed rewards column is where you'll fine the amount of LTC you've accumulated. Every accepted share increments that number.

EDIT2: You're mining, so your temp should be up. Your fans will probably get clogged with dust quicker, and you'll use more electricity, but there isn't any danger to your equipment. Unless, you're running a crazy overclock.

Gerbs 04-08-2013 10:07 PM

So it's not damaging to my gpu? I just cleaned out my set up today especially my gpu it was dusty AF

edit: should i mine in intervals such as mine for 6 hours then let it rest for like 2 hours then mine another 6? i feel like this is stressing the gpu

Presto 04-08-2013 10:23 PM

As long as it's running within normal operating temp, then it won't damage the card. I'm just gonna let mine run as long as I'm not doing anything on my system. My temp is 69c. The auto fan is running at 50% speed. It could run cooler, but it seems satisfied with this temp.

BTC went up so fucking much in less than a week..

Hondaracer 04-09-2013 07:15 AM

The only thing I noticed while mining extended periods of time was that occasionally my GPU usage would start to drop on its own and the fan speed would decrease, so id be sitting at my desk studying etc and hear my fan slow down then watched the GPU usage hover around 65% then drop all the way to 0 then pop back up to about 60, watched it for about 10 minutes where it never got back up on its own to 100% which seemed somewhat disconcerning?

Gotta keep an eye on it, I was mining all day without getting credit for it today :okay:

Presto 04-09-2013 07:39 AM

With Windows, I think it's good to restart your PC once or twice a day when mining. I noticed after a day of mining, my system would be laggy while trying to do normal things like browsing the internet. I have a feeling that my GPU is throwing too many hardware errors, and just gets corrupted, at some point. I've tried adjusting some settings, but hw errors show up, eventually. GUIminer doesn't show the HW stat, but I saw it when I was just running cgminer from the command line.

SkinnyPupp 04-09-2013 07:41 AM

You could lower the intensity if you want to use it while mining

Gerbs 04-09-2013 11:29 AM

skinny you have some ltc or btc I can buy : P

lol wtf bitcoin gapped up 20% or something

BurnoutBinLaden 04-09-2013 12:28 PM

Goddamn $261/BTC...I bought 1BTC when it was at $17/BTC (Julyish) that's like 1500% in nine months

bakasam 04-09-2013 01:17 PM

So just for clarifications:

Litecoin utilizes both CPU and GPU? or is GPU mining still dominant?

I have 2 rigs at home
1. An AMD with a 7850
2. An Intel with a 660TI

The AMD rig belongs to my brother so I'd prefer to use my Intel rig assuming CPU mining is worth while. Or is there is some way to link both rigs to 1 account so I could potentially alternate between teh two?

Gerbs 04-09-2013 04:47 PM

You can mine from both at the same time if u want to. You just link the mining with an account and password to the host site.
