So this was the pre game thing that was supposed to rock our socks off?

Here's more info.

Fans at Rogers Arena on Saturday night are likely going to be very noisy before the opening puck drop. Ahead of the Canucks home opener on Saturday night against the Edmonton Oilers, the club has announced that there will be a new four minute pre-game show.

The show will “reflect the pride and passion of the team,” according to the Canucks official website.

The show was created by Juicy Studios, a multimedia company from the interior of B.C. Juicy has previously done videos well known companies such as The North Face, EA Sports and Red Bull. The show will include a 2.5 minute video, along with large on ice projections. There are also 76 “celebration lights” built into the stanchions across the arena. The Canucks are the first team in the league to introduce this type of lighting into their pre-game entertainment.

More hometown talent will be featured in the opening video, as Victoria-born film and video game composer Ajay Battacharyya produced the soundtrack for the film.

Also, B.C. born hip-hop artist Kyprios will speak in the opening video. Canuck fans might know Kyprios best for his pump-up song during the Canucks 2011 playoff run called How the West was One. The song can still give goosebumps to everyone who was so emotionally invested in the Canucks playoff run that year.

Scott Carlson, the Juicy Studios owner and creative director says the project is his “most passionate to date.” Their goal was to capture the “intense emotion, toughness and hard work that goes into getting the job done.”

Juicy Studios will likely hear the appreciation for their hard work before the game gets underway on Saturday night.
