Wouldn't it be crazy to win the cup without having ever taking the lead?

Mike Oxbig 06-11-2014 06:34 PM

:derp: NYR not gonna win because they dont have a captain

Bob Nicholson would be a perfect CEO, if we got him our head office would be looking fantastic

jeedee 06-11-2014 07:31 PM

what does CEO even do :derp:

SkinnyPupp 06-11-2014 07:34 PM

Got to love winning the cup at home :fuckyea:

Although Kings fans are pretty lame IMO

Nabatron 06-11-2014 07:34 PM

I can see Bob going to the oilers since he has ties with hockey Canada personal in management. But I hope he comes to the canucks it would be a huge help to linden and benning! Getting a guy with some experience is key!

Brassard didn't have all day to shoot it and it was coming off the backhand. Also Brassard was looking at the puck and not the net.

I saw that clip. I also saw this one:

I was exaggerating saying stick was there well before, but fact of the matter is explained below. To say that Quick robbed him is a stretch, like I said he was lucky Brassard shot it into the area his stick occupied. Had Brassard had a split second to look at the net, or the puck had flipped on end a bit differently, Quick would not have 'robbed' Brassard. I've made saves like that before and I would never take credit for meaning to do that. Like below, I give Quick credit for getting there and playing the percentage but the shot hit him instead of him making the save--if you understand the difference

From that close in, goalies don't react to shots.
They instinctively play percentage by building a "wall" from down up to cover as much net.

Quick knew a shot was coming so he had his right leg spread out
and held the stick above the pad to make the best "wall" he could in that desperation save.

"Blocking" saves shouldn't be discredited though.
It takes skill to get into proper positions to give themselves the best chance at having shots hit them.

So much awesome with the flying V.
:lol

Since it's now pertinent to our conversation, retired ref Kerry Fraser broke down the Ducks movie hockey, and what would have been called if it was a real game. Oddly enough, the flying V was a sound play because the head man had the puck. No offside on that one.

Some of the other stuff though.....
BarDown: C'mon Ref Kerry Fraser reviews the Mighty Ducks

As the team then known as "Division 5" plays their first game under coach Gordon Bombay, the opening sequence appears to be filled with infractions. Which one's, in your opinion, should have been called; the racial comment prior to the drop of the puck? The apparent interference after the draw? The illegal helmets being worn by District 5? How about knocking an opponent's helmet off during a goal celebration?

I love the days where I'm bored and I go on to CDC and I read about Benning being interested in drafting Reinhart and everyone starts talking like we have drafted Reinhart already.

dafaq, i thought president and CEO were the same position

JesseBlue 06-12-2014 04:25 PM

they can be

Mike Oxbig 06-12-2014 04:35 PM

Because in reality Trevor Linden is not the president of the Vancouver Canucks. He is a puppet hired by Aquaman. The real CEO/President will be Bob Nicholson.

murd0c 06-12-2014 04:43 PM

Trevor Linden is the face of the franchise and a CEO is needed thats knows the in and outs and is more then a pretty face that the fans know.

highfive 06-12-2014 04:47 PM

Nicholson is going to Edmonton. Apparently there is a press conference tmrw.
