theres no such thing as a lucky save.

AzNightmare 06-11-2014 01:08 AM

From that close in, goalies don't react to shots.
They instinctively play percentage by building a "wall" from down up to cover as much net.

Quick knew a shot was coming so he had his right leg spread out
and held the stick above the pad to make the best "wall" he could in that desperation save.

"Blocking" saves shouldn't be discredited though.
It takes skill to get into proper positions to give themselves the best chance at having shots hit them.

awesome, he can come here and rejoin his visa commercial buddy Burrows and replace Kesler :troll:

but srsly, i could see him ending up in Anaheim or the Pens
that $7M cap hit could scare off some teams, i'm sure the asking price would be similar to what Van is asking for Kesler.

murd0c 06-11-2014 01:12 PM

Kes will get a lot more then Spezza since the cap hit is so much more reasonable and really Kes is a better all around player

hypediss 06-11-2014 01:17 PM

make sure they ship him with loads of packing peanuts

guy's pretty fragile ;)

i should hope so...Canucks aren't exactly great at trading these days.

The Kes deal will define Benning as a GM along with whoever he drafts this year.

murd0c 06-11-2014 01:31 PM

Benning is a whole new ball game and not a player agent trying to play with the big boys like Gillis was

Ch28 06-11-2014 01:59 PM

Benning is also a very highly respected person among the league. GMs will be more than willing to deal with him.

Hondaracer 06-11-2014 02:05 PM

We'll see about that.

Just about every other GM is more respected/isn't as stubborn as Michael D. Gillis :lol

Except Garth Snow and Jay Feaster :lawl:

Why should I get reported for doing my job in Langley?

highfive 06-11-2014 03:53 PM

Surprised Murray confirmed the rumour.

Benning is still saying they are "talking" to each other. Whatever the fuck that means.

I guess it's a process.

will068 06-11-2014 04:10 PM

I'm expecting Bettman instructing the refs to favor the Rangers from now on to lengthen the series. :suspicious:

Mike Oxbig 06-11-2014 04:12 PM

Made it home to watch the Kings sweep the Rangers tonight! :toot:

Yeah no way this series ends tonight. NHL Illuminati will drag it out as long as they can for the $$$$$$$$ :lol

AzNightmare 06-11-2014 05:07 PM

Lundqvist always has a strong bounce back game after a bad one.
I think they said his SAV% on elimination games are like above 0.950~

/inb4 Lundqvist shutout tonight

murd0c 06-11-2014 05:07 PM

fuck the next game is friday, I won't be able to watch it since I'm going to see Joe Rogan if the Rangers win tonight :(

dbaz 06-11-2014 05:10 PM

Kings need to finish this shit tonight so we can hire and trade people

I thought talking about a shutout is okay as long as it's not during the game...?

Edit: oops didn't realize the game was on already.
