Would kill for a Hamhuis-Weber pairing for Team Canada :high:

NHL on TSN panel projects Canada's roster for Sochi [quoted article for you sonick]
Quote:

In net, Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo was chosen as the starter to be backed up by Montreal Canadiens' Carey Price and Phoenix Coyotes' Mike Smith.

The top defensive pairing was Duncan Keith and Drew Doughty followed by pairings of Marc Staal and Shea Weber, Jay Bouwmeester and Alex Pietrangelo, and Dan Boyle and PK Subban.

Up front it was no surprise that Sidney Crosby was centring the top line, flanked by wingers Chris Kunitz and Steven Stamkos.

Jonathan Toews was the second line centre along with wingers Eric Staal and Rick Nash. The third line was composed of Logan Couture, John Tavares, and Claude Giroux left to right and the fourth line was Patrick Sharp, Ryan Getzlaf, and Jeff Carter. Patrice Bergeron and Martin St. Louis also made the team as extra forwards.
DAN BOYLE :lawl:

BERGERON AS AN EXTRA FORWARD :lawl:

Not sure about Marc Staal getting a spot considering his eye injury/if he'll be 100%. Should be Hamhuis just sayin

I don't think Dan Boyle should be on the team

Bergeron makes the team for the simple fact that he's a jack of all trades. He can play PP/PK, good at faceoffs, can score & pass. If any of the top 12 get injured at any point of the tournament, he can slot in with no issues.

Another guy I'd like to see make the team is Lucic. We need a big, hard nosed guy to cause chaos in front of the net.

Will this guy fit in our 2nd line RW?

NHL

dbaz 08-28-2013 02:11 PM

cleary is more of a 3rd line player imo.

sonick 08-28-2013 02:12 PM

Agreed, 3rd line.

LOL LUCIC ON INTERNATIONAL ICE? You're kidding right? That's just a disaster waiting to happen. I don't even think he has the conditioning to play on international ice :lawl:

I'm guessing you didn't watch the 2006 Olympics. Team Canada invited a bunch of powerforwards/big guys [Bertuzzi, Rob Blake, Adam Foote just to name a few] and we placed 7th in the entire tournament.

Those big guys are more suited for NHL-sized rinks, not international.

Simply put; speed kills and we'll need fast guys for Sochi and the international ice. Not big and slow guys that try to go for the big hit, miss, and go out of position.
