What I meant was, he needs to improve as much defensively as he does offensively. Obviously he'll be more of an impact player offensively overall, but if he doesn't prove that he can play defensively as well, he won't get much ice time with Torts. I think a lot of people blame AV for his lack of ice time but I believe any balanced coach wouldn't play anyone who is not defensively responsible these days.. unless they're a Russian 40 goal scorer :lol

Why can't people expect much from Kassian?

This is professional hockey, not recreational. The fans are paying fans and they expect good hockey and hard work; it's an entertainment business and the fans are paying a premium for it.


I know it's one thing to be a loyal Canuck fan but maybe being too much of an apologist is a bad thing for a team.


Maybe what you're trying to say is not so much "people shouldn't expect much from Kassian" but moreso "give him some leash". But it's pro hockey, there's definitely expectations there, and high-ones. People are hoping we didn't get just another plug with this guy.

For all we know, Kassian could give the Sedins what Burrows couldn't. A guy that grinds the boards with dmen and takes valuable time up, setting up a half "court" offense using his power forward skills.

Or.....the first line could be one and done in the offensive zone. Too premature to say. One thing is for certain. Kassian (any Canucks for that matter) will only have a leash. if they put in 100 evbery shift.

I'm looking forward to the season. Definately not the strongest Canucks team on papers, but we have some young guys to look forward to, and hope they develop into Canucks that sign extensions.

It would be nice to have another sports radio station in Vancouver outside of Bell Media. New personalities, less of the old recycled garbage.

Sometimes, these guys are so out there, you think they are just picking a side of an argument or choosing a topic of discussion to get people riled up. That's understandable because they need ratings, but it would be a breath of fresh air to listen to someone intelligent talk sports.

His show was part of why I got into hockey in the 90's. Didn't give a shit about the Canucks, but I enjoyed the show every night before going to sleep.

Wow...With the exception of their early 90's jerseys (and before them), the Sabres absolutely suck at designing jerseys.

I find having separated text outside of the logo is stupid.
Including Vancouver's. Was never a fan of the "VANCOUVER" printed above the logo.
Also the diagonal slashed across text (off the top of my head, Penguins, NYR, Colorado) was dumb too.

The logo does the explaining.
We don't need a logo that says "Hi, we are the [city name] [team name]"
