Besides the lack of food-relevant content in her post, she needs to buy a better camera with that $50k and learn how to take better pictures. And either leave her face out of the pictures, or put a paper bag over it.

SkinnyPupp 06-07-2012 08:31 PM

And why the fuck is she wearing a fucking scarf in June

Excelsis 06-07-2012 08:33 PM

SkinnyPupp 06-07-2012 08:36 PM

I'm actually quite amazed. Not kidding I fucking LOL'ed in the middle of a lecture today because I saw a tweet about where she went first and thought immediately of you pointing to center field with a bat.

It's probably nothing that someone else that writes a food blog or reads a food blog could tell you. I figure I'm not involved in any capacity so any criticism I offer...well, the benefits only go one way.

I don't hold any animosity toward anyone involved...it's just that I don't feel I need to participate. That's not because it's not my blog. Ask any of my friends with blogs and sites...I don't really leave many comments to begin with. The people that write sites where I would...I talk to them on a regular basis anyways so I can just go "Hey, you know when you wrote about...that thing?".

LOL! Well, that just might happen out of pure coincidence sometimes anyways but I don't want to troll them, really. I don't see what I would gain from it. I figure this was last month...we can just part ways professionally.

But basically, I told her she picked a shitty restaurant, and sarcastically told her that she was doing a bang up job. Also stuff along the lines of this being sponsored.. or she's just an idiot. And that she might as well have reviewed the Mc Donalds across the street.

It's not like I used foul language or anything.

LOL...I get your criticism, but c'mon, it's just food blogging. :)

You guys should stop hating on this girl. She won fair and square.

kcl38 06-07-2012 10:39 PM

I think Ronin should extend a helping hand to her for a few days and show her some more Richmond-y restaurants LOL

Grandmaster TSE 06-07-2012 10:47 PM

how do you write a food blog without mention a few items off the menu that are must have.

what do people reading this get out of it, try the squab and don't get the chinese broccoli? information is key, and the thing that people that would be reading it wants out of the article.

i just hope it gets better, cuz if not, then its epic fail on tourism richmond's part

Was quite angry.

I'm more than happy to help out other food bloggers but I think once you become a paid professional, you should just know how to do your job well.

noots 06-07-2012 11:06 PM

LOL at the rhubarb getting more attention than the actual food at the restaurant.

At least she has 364 more chances to improve.

The goal of this is for the winner to explore herself. Anyone can lend a helping hand, at the same time, not everything comes free.

That was the only "fact" about SSW that she got right... thats how sad it is.

StylinRed 06-08-2012 03:02 AM

i dont have any issues of where she went that doesn't really matter

my issue is she talked about nothing.... absolutely nothing.... like 1 sentence was about what she ate and thats it... and she's like i dont want to write about the other dishes because you'll be reading a novel?! :seriously: bitch if you talked about the food instead of prattled on about nothing you could have reviewed every dish

I think her problem is they ordered a bunch of things and she didn't know wtf was sitting in front of her (by name) so she couldn't review it so she just picked the most obvious dish

as for the scarf chicks have summer scarves spring scarves fall scarves winter scarves... they can make a hot chick all the more hotter kind of like when a girl wears a dress instead of jeans/tights

CorneringArtist 06-08-2012 06:39 AM

Read the blog post. :seriously:, Does this bitch think she's Jeremy Clarkson with a writing style like that?

Richmond Sushi it is

Oyster Motoyaki? What is that? OMG It's Moto-licious!

Ronin 06-08-2012 08:56 AM

Not gonna lie, I take a lot of cues from Jeremy Clarkson's writing and presenting style.

I routinely write 1000+ words for most blog posts. I guess if I was writing daily, I'd go for about 600-700.

RacePace 06-08-2012 10:10 AM

Her day 2 blog of Pho Han is better

A LOT better. The rambling in the beginning is fine if she talks more about the food. Her photos were a lot better today as well.

SkinnyPupp 06-08-2012 08:55 PM

Damn she didn't go to Pho Hoa for her 2nd choice.

too bad FOODY GOODIE isn't still around, that would definitely be the next place to go.
