Cuz most players at this time are probably sitting on a beach somewhere.

Is Ekblad gonna replace Erik Johnson?

Ovie really wanted that Honda Accord.

Kane and the guys draft him third last so that he doesn't get the prize.

Two Accords as prizes?!

Good marketing, Honda.

RNH should wave the big key at Ovie. :lawl:

Who???? I admire Latvians for supporting their countryman, but come on!

Who did the Nucks have when they signed Luongo to an extension?

It was obvious last season Lack wasn't ready for the load of a starting goalie. Or maybe it was the Tortorella effect. But either way I don't think Lack would admit that he felt confident or comfortable in the starter role last year, especially with how he was essentially thrown into it.

Nothing's to say Miller can't be moved at the next or final year of his contract trade deadline. He has a limited NTC which gives him some control of where he ends up, but personally I don't expect him to playout the full 3 years of his contract here unless a miracle like the Canucks making a finals run with him happens. Miller really is just a stop gap while the Canucks are in these transitional years. He's an insurance policy to make sure the team doesn't tank in the standings even if the team actually sucks the balls. He's played as well this season as anybody would have expected I think.

Moving Miller for some mid round picks when a Lack or a Markstrom is ready to take over starting role will be easy. Miller cost the Canucks nothing to get, the end of his contract is finite, and he makes a reasonable amount cap wise. He could return maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick?

Not much of a market for an immerging starting goalie who may not make the jump and end up being a backup for who knows how long. IMO Lack and Markstrom and more or less interchangeable with regards to their ability and potential. Lack has shown a bit more at the NHL level, but not a huge sample size. Markstrom is younger and may (but may not) develop to a higher level than Lack, but who knows. Neither of these variables will give one considerably higher value than the other on the trade market. If Miller is worth a 2nd or 3rd round pick, I can't imagine Markstrom or Lack being worth more than a 4th or 5th and would really just be another team's insurance policy as opposed to bonafide starter, and at that point is it really worthwhile?
