Most intense shootout of the season so far.

Hope the Kings fumble their game in hand.
Fuck they better bury the Yotes and the oil.

6o4__boi 04-06-2015 09:04 PM

Lol I've been a Canucks fan long enough to always expect the worst in these situation.

I can't see the Oilers beating the Kings tmr. I'm hoping the Jets keep winning.

murd0c 04-06-2015 09:39 PM

clinched a spot in the playoffs!!! Man this feels good after last year.

chouchou 04-06-2015 09:45 PM

did we clinch with this win?

murd0c 04-06-2015 09:46 PM

yes we did

!YaoShi 04-06-2015 09:51 PM

Not if Calgary and LA win both games and go into over time in the game they play against each other AND Winnipeg wins 2 games out of their 3 and canucks lose both games. Also Minnesota had to win one game. We will fall out of playoffs. We didn't clinch just yet because Winnipeg won.

CPE 04-06-2015 09:54 PM

But on the other hand, we win one of the last two and we clinch 2nd place:fuckyea:

if we lose both of our last 2 games vs EDM/ARZ when our playoffs is on the line, we DESERVE to be excluded from the post season

PiuYi 04-06-2015 10:02 PM

hmm wonder what we'll get for trading ryan miller in the off-season...

murd0c 04-06-2015 10:05 PM

his trade clause doesn't kick in until the start of the next hockey season right?

Tim Budong 04-06-2015 10:06 PM

haven't clinched yet
Canucks can still miss the playoffs, but not likely

Team can clinch tomorrow if LA and CGY both lose in regulation

6o4__boi 04-06-2015 10:35 PM

I'd be surprised if either of em loses.
Oilers and Yotes have nothing to play for and its in their best interest to lose.

That said when they play the Canucks it's a different story lol.

Could probably get a 2nd rounder for Miller or add him to a package to try to move up the draft. I'm not completely sold on Lack yet but Miller isn't the answer either.

Not clinched, but 99.9% in according to National Hockey League Playoff Chances - Sports Club Stats

With Hammond, Dubnyk and Niemi on the market, trying to rid Miller and his $$ will be difficult

with that said, none of those 3 have proven much outside the small sample size this year and will be cheaper than Miller...

Legasse's Stadium in the Venetian is pretty nice. Not sure if they'll show a lot of hockey now that baseball is back :heckno:

Ottawa and Minny would be absolutely stupid if they let go of Hammond and Dubnyk. Dubnyk is the only reason Minny is even in the wild card position they're in right now, and Hammond is the only reason the Sens are in contention to make it to the playoffs.

Niemi is really the only one that could be in play, but the entire team realistically will be in play. That core just isn't working and I'm surprised Doug Wilson hasn't been fired yet.

With that being said, Miller's stock is extremely low at this point. He's a 34 year old goalie with decent numbers this season after laying a turd during the playoffs with the Blues. He's also coming off surgery where he was out for almost 2 months, so there's no telling how well he'll be playing after. I'd be surprised if Benning can even get a 2nd rounder for him. Realistically, Lack and Miller both play roughly the same in terms of stats and skills, so I'd much rather get behind the younger (27) goalie then an aging 34 year old that has been showing signs that he's on the decline. Watching Miller play sometimes is like watching Cloutier all over again. There are games where he's fantastic and steals wins for us, and there are other games where he just completely shits the bed so hard that you're better off throwing a cut out in place of him.

Miller to sharks
Neimi to Sabres
Dubnyk stays in minny
Hammond stays in ottawa

anderson... up to him where he wants to go

Hold on there young blood.
Hammond, while having a great start, is not a proven NHL goalie yet.
The Senators would be stupid to let Anderson go and put all their eggs in on basket.

People said that about Dubnyk and he's having a Vezina award season right now.

People said the same about Schneider when he was Lu's backup and look at his numbers ever since.

Yes, he's not 'proven' yet, but when a goalie is able to take a team that was clearly out of the playoffs and put them on his shoulders and get them within striking distance of making it, then that's about as much as he can do to prove his worth.

Anderson is 33 and has a great cap hit of 4.2m per season for the next 2 seasons. Hammond is 27 and a pending UFA. If you can get Hammond locked up for less than Anderson money then I'd keep him and flip Anderson to pick up a skater to help out Turris, Ryan, Stone, and Karlsson.

Ya but cloutier was the best regular season goalie ever!

All the bigger sportsbooks should have enough screens for all the hockey games, especially for the playoffs.

Vegaster 7 Sportsbooks ? Vegaster. Amazingly Simple Experiences.

Dubnyk had a decent record playing in Edmonton. He was the reason the Oilers weren't any worse.
He was bound to do well on a team with good D men.

Schneider may not have had the numbers being Lu's backup, but he was a first round draft pick and had pretty good numbers in the minors
Technically, he was very sound making difficult saves look easy.

I can see what you are trying to say, but again. Hammond has only had a small sample size of NHL games.
Hammond only played Junior A with the Vernon Vipers before playing for a shitty Bowling Green State University hockey team.
Even his numbers in the AHL wasn't that great.
Oh, and he lost to the Laffs. :heckno:

punkwax 04-07-2015 09:37 AM

Hammond might be this season's Jeff Cowan. Hopefully he can keep it going since he's a local kid, but if I were to bet on it, I'd say he'll slip into obscurity sooner than later.
