I'd say more like Anson Carter. Had an NHL career. The one year he played with the twins, scored 30+ goals, and 2 years later his NHL career was over.

Jonathan Cheechoo is another example. 56 goals and 93 points in 05/06.
2 years later, he had 37 points and then 29 points.

Jeff Cowan's streak was only a week or so wasn't it?

Can't remember exactly, but think it was 10 or so games? Hammond has played around 20, so I thought it would be a better comparable than someone like Carter (who also had a career going before he joined the Canucks)

It'd make more sense if it was a comparison with another goalie that went on a hot/lucky streak then fizzled out

Could go either way. No one knows. The smart move would be to give him a small raise and sign him to a short contract. Sure, trade Anderson or keep him as a goalie tandem until they know for sure but letting him walk or signing him for big money would be stupid.

Hammond could turn out to be more like Jim Carey... Or maybe even Patrick Lalime who, funny enough, played for Ottawa...
