^ You can have Toyota and their flat washer thing.

You'll be fine. (Famous last words.)

If you can, torque to spec and away you go. The day you stop posting here, we'll help cremate you and spread your ashes on Commercial Drive or something, or post a sign on a tree that says "Hondaracer was here. F*ck Trudeau."

I drove around with literal nuts from Homedepot for the longest time.

I do not want to hear about reps from you ever again.

trollface 12-20-2024 02:35 PM

They're real grade 8 nuts.

Except maybe Toyota and their flat face washer nuts, it would be unsafe on most wheels.

Performance winter tires tested. The CC2 is included in the test as the benchmark all season tire and it's quite interesting how well it holds up compared to performance winters. All the performance winters are worse in the wet and dry than the CC2 and only about equal in the snow.

Either performance winters are no longer worth it or there's going to be a big change in how performance winters work in the next generation (merging all weather capabilities into them).

Been rolling around on my X-Ice 3’s now for a few weeks. My winters are 18’s as opposed to my regular tires on 17’s

I can’t believe how rough of a ride the winters are. The winters are definitely lower profile but it’s still gotta be at least 5/8 or more of the summer tires, but hitting pot holes etc. it feels like hitting the rim directly it’s so hard

Don’t know how people drive around with the little rubber band tires must be so uncomfortable

Those are performance winters, not regular winters. They do seem pretty pointless for people who don't need proper winters though.

This only makes the upcoming CC3 release even more interesting.

I went up yesterday. It's just at freezing in the middle of the afternoon and it's wet from half way up.

westopher 01-13-2025 01:43 PM

Another winter cancelled. 4 in a row now. Maybe I do hate it here.

EvoFire 01-13-2025 01:57 PM

Oh sorry might have misunderstood, wet from half way up on the road to base. The snow seemed to be actually ok. I wasn't there to board but rather bringing my son for lessons.

I saw you said R1R I thought you were going up on R comps.

Whistler apparently has been amazing this season. I totally regret not getting an edge pass.. but yenno financial responsibility :concentrate:

noclue 01-13-2025 04:03 PM

Making the argument that crossclimate or other all-weather tires are all you need for your daily in the lower mainland

Anyone who's told you that doesn't really care if there's snow then. They are at like half of their average snowpack this year.

No I know what you mean, but like I posted above about Whistler, they are astronomically below normal snowpack so far this season. I was up last Tuesday. Almost nothing is open, nothing in the forecast. If it turns around drastically we MAY have 2 decent months.

tegra7 01-17-2025 11:27 AM

Anyone taken their winters off?

dark0821 01-18-2025 07:38 AM

lol the weather forecast suggest the temps gonna hover below freezing at nights lolol, no man.... winters stay on... hahahaha

red kryptonite 01-18-2025 01:09 PM
