Beater. Why would you wanna introduce salt to such a nice car. It’s also very low. If you have any sort of snow accumulation you’ll plow right into the snow and get high sided…. Aka stupid.

AstulzerRZD 08-21-2025 09:45 AM

it's more, should i get tires that aren't summer tires

imo fall and winter are perfect for enjoying the misty weather - crank the heater, put a touque on. it's not like alberta where your car's getting pelted by gravel

C7 has Pilot Alpin PA4 and Sottozero fitments - skip the pirellis

yray 08-21-2025 10:27 AM

just run a square tire set up

4am + rwd + unplowed streets :ahwow:

If they're too wide they won't have any traction when it's slippery anyways. The modified 4x4 guys learn this the hard way every winter.

Sounds like you just need more weight.

Put Hobz in the trunk.

The Corvette trunk is huge, good for at least 1 body in there.

Who's down to try these? Maybe you, red_kryptonite?!

https://images-stag.jazelc.com/uploa...uckstone_2.jpg

Oh, motorcycle tires. Even still.

Badhobz 08-29-2025 07:43 PM

Id throw them on a Corolla XRS for sure. Too bad it’s moto only right now, but maybe I’ll ask my cousins in Chong Chong land to make them for regular cars and see hilarious results. Ps. I’m still looking for a Corolla XRS. If you toys find one in decent condition let me know.

red kryptonite 08-30-2025 08:35 AM

lol putting cheap tires on a car is one thing... but on a bike :heckno:

roastpuff 08-30-2025 09:27 AM

Oh God I'm trying to start looking for winter wheels and tires for the ML350... and it needs 19 inch wheels and tires because "P31 AMG Sport Exterior line package" comes with 350mm drilled/slotted rotors :fulloffuck:

SSM_DC5 08-30-2025 09:48 AM

Talk your parents into selling me their ML. You'll be more stress free that way!:fullofwin:

Badhobz 08-30-2025 10:43 AM

SSM special , 20% over market price cuz he’s rich.

I found a set of 19" wheels for the MB for $350, just need winter tires now (old tires from seller).

Look at the size difference of these chonky bois next to the Honda Civic winter tire (215/55R16) as comparison. Weight is also probably double lmfao. Good workout deadlifting them onto the shelves.

Have a choice to make...

Used 235/55R19 Michelin X-Ice Snows on FB Marketplace (80-90% tread) $700-750 + $160 mount and balance (call it $900)

Brand new 235/55R19 Continental Viking Contact 8 (that's right, v8 is out) for $915 tax in + $160 m&b (call it $1100)

Brand new 255/50R19 Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 (old tire at this point, released in like 2016?) at Costco $1300 tax in everything included. ($1300).

Hmmm

bcrdukes 09-03-2025 01:59 PM

Go with the tires that give you the greatest street cred.

Hmmm

Rule out the DM-V2 - has a super soft compound in first half that just makes it squirmy in Vancouver temperature. Second half of compound not nearly as good.

Swedes and EU already tested VikingContact 8. It's has better wet grip than the XIce Snow.
Viking Contact 8 gets "B" rolling resistance, "D" grade wet braking, 69dB noise.

Get the XIce Snow if you can get the purchase receipt and dated receipts for mount/discount to keep the treadlife warranty.
XIce Snow SUV in your size gets "C" rolling resistance, "E" grade wet braking and 69 dB noise.

Can't rely on FB Marketplace sellers for receipts. Right now leaning towards the Contis as I get IPP pricing for them.

AstulzerRZD 09-03-2025 02:26 PM

Then get the contis

fwiw the marketplace ppl who sold me winters they got at costco did find and give me the receipts.
