Where did you get Higgins from? Lalji has said that from his sources that he 100% believes to be true is that the Hawks are in for a Hamhuis & Vrbata trade.

I see this scenario:

Hamhuis for Pokka and a 1st round pick.

Vrbata for Bickell and a 3rd round pick.

its my opinion. i just don't see how vrbata can help the hawks. he was invisible in the playoffs last year. With higgins at least he can help out their penalty kill and play good defensively.

It also gives the hawks some cap space as well higgins 2.5m vs bickell 4m.

If Canucks have to retain and take on bickell they will be getting more than pokka 1st for vrbata and hamhuis. Another prospect like schmaltz etc

Wideman has a cap hit of 5.25 mill for the 16/17 season and then he'll be a UFA. He has 8 more games left to serve from his suspension pending the appeal.

Considering they want to drop him to re-sign Russell...I wouldn't think too much. Also that teams right now that want d don't have much cap + his suspension and possible treatment afterwards is too risky for playoff teams. Signing Russell and then having a cap problem in the offseason handicaps them in trades too
