OK if true I failed my own post...did it anyways. I understand the the floor mats are thinner/lighter..and some SKU have thinner windshield and battery. then again you have to question how much of a difference of cloth in weight it will actually save...a few lbs? seems more for bragging rights than serving a purpose/function |
Seat design saves a few pounds, and especially so with the recaro SRD vs USDM seat. glass and battery saves a few pounds.... few pounds here and there add up. |
Don't be so hard on yourself Twitchy. It's part of the whole appeal to the Type R, and in a small way the same with the Club Racer S2000's. The CR S2000's make the same power but weigh about 90 lbs less than a standard S2000 with slight changes like stiffer springs and better steering rack and aero. ITR weights less than a GSR, make a tad bit more power but has no sunroof. Stiffer springs for better handing and the body design was supposed to be a little more areodynamic than a GSR. In the end, it makes a little difference but helps a lot in selling the racer image. |
It's those details that as an ITR enthusiast you can nerd out on be an elitest to all other standard Integra and civic owners. |
I used to be one of those ITR owning elitest pricks, glad I put that behind me and moved on to become a better person. Now I'm an NSX owning elitest prick. Spoiler! |
Jasonturbo be like: look at that red caliper'ed, wingless "Just an S model" peasant. |

Spent 8 hrs on Victoria Day traveling to Vancouver and back to Victoria. Picked up a stock Acura amber lit CD player and stock air box and tube from a 97 ITR. Mine had a 2001 GSR cd player and intake. The intake had an ugly rubber adapter coupling to fit the larger throttle body. An ITR buddy hooked me up with the parts for $300 so it was worth the trip! R community is great. :h5: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...psd912ocy0.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...psvhcvf0ay.jpg |

Just ordered a new bulb from Acura $6.50 +tax Had to order a few missing bolts as well. Also anyone looking for red ITR seats? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/CDM-JDM-Acura...xXQKnU&vxp=mtr |
frd went to take a look at the itr in N van with ssr wheels hooooly i was suprised at how bad the condition is. seller claims that there is 9k damage to the rear quarter panel only. but i see the seam sealer on the end panel is rusting. left quater panel has obvious mismatched color over sprays front bumper has been resprayed as well. rear bumper was red before cause the nh0 paint is peeling. all type r stickers are aftermarket metrotown quality. engine bay has lots of dried motor oil on the firewall. poor type R that needs alooooot of TLC |
With that sort of mess, paying 25k for a nice one seems much more appealing. |
Trd rs 200 Did you guys drive it? Sounds like a lot of stories The truth is the Type R has never been an expensive car. There were many owners who lacked resources and maturity who did questionable repairs and modifications. |
Speaking of really poor quality R's what did you do to sumaznguy' old R? Quote:

I love how cheap replacement parts are. At least the non ITR specific parts. Paid $200 for an OEM RH front fender with VIN and mint (will replace poorly fitting aftermarket fender), passenger side mirror (my housing is cracked) and a plastic engine under tray (they always tear in the middle). I was curious how many ITR are for sale in Canada right now. There used to be quite a few choices in BC, AB, and ON. Now I only see two. The North Van $12,900 Work Meister with some claims on it and this one in Alberta. Heavily modded: 1998 Acura Integra Type R Coupe (2 door) | used cars & trucks | Calgary | Kijiji All that is left is lots of WTB ads across the country. Very similar to what happened a few years ago when I was looking for a 964. There was 3 to choose from in Vancouver for $25,000. All C2 manuals. Then they were gone and nothing else came to market. Now they go for $40-50,000 CAD. Not sure ITR prices will ever go that crazy as the iconic 911 but certainly supply has dried up. |
