That's considered "heavily modded" ?

I was curious how many ITR are for sale in Canada right now. There used to be quite a few choices in BC, AB, and ON. Now I only see two.
The North Van $12,900 Work Meister with some claims on it and this one in Alberta.

Heavily modded:
1998 Acura Integra Type R Coupe (2 door) | used cars & trucks | Calgary | Kijiji

All that is left is lots of WTB ads across the country. Very similar to what happened a few years ago when I was looking for a 964. There was 3 to choose from in Vancouver for $25,000. All C2 manuals. Then they were gone and nothing else came to market. Now they go for $40-50,000 CAD. Not sure ITR prices will ever go that crazy as the iconic 911 but certainly supply has dried up.

hmm wonder if worth saving.

I would be willing to remove pretty much any non-destructive bolt-ons, but a JDM front end is a deal breaker for me.

That North Van one had 8 claims on it...

not everyone is openly advertising. i mentioned before the one at SR, and someone at fasttrack autobody has a PY one that is in storage that i'm told would sell if someone offered enough $, but it's not in the best of shape so it is unlikely to be going anywhere soon :(

Iron Chef 06-05-2016 04:53 PM

A lot of type r owners are hermits. I know a few and almost none of them post on any forums

Why would anyone pay $45k for a ITR?
That's crazy.

If you're going for clean and rare Honda's for $57k USD, you can get this almost completely stock MINT NSX with only 25k miles
Acura NSX Ultra RARE 25K Original Mile Original Paint NSX | eBay

I'm sure there are lots of ITR's tucked away with owners who still love the car but have moved onto other things in life. They'll come out once the market warrants it(no, we're not quite there yet) or they want to enjoy them again. Lots of them do not partake in online discussions either so there are many that are just unknown.

The $45K one has been for sale for over a decade.

thumper 06-06-2016 01:03 PM

i have a friend in california who bought his brand new in 1997. it was both his daily and track whore for 10-15 years before the clutch and flywheel blew up at buttonwillow and messed up the transmission. it's been parked ever since in his garage... then he worked overseas in china for a bit, came back, got married and now he's just welcomed his second child, and all i can see of his itr is a little bit of the rear wing poking out from all the storage items piled up on top of it. he keeps saying he will fix it someday, won't sell it to me no matter how hard i try, and he now thinks it's going to be his nest egg for his kids' education fund.

Wish we had this here in BC.

^^Make the trip!! It's an awesome experience. The ITR crew in the US are a great group of guys(and girls). Lots of fanboi ITR talk and lots of tech shit too. I went to Expo 8 and 9. Missed 10 due to a friends wedding and had the flight cancelled for 11 due to weather while transferring at O'Hare. I plan on attending again but maybe when the kidos get older.

Iron Chef 06-07-2016 11:31 AM

TE-37, Regamaster, K1's or stock , take your pick... Lol

Any ITR owners here have some 205/45/16 or 215/45/16 track tires they want to part with? Or 205/50/15

RE11, RE71, RS-3, R1R, RT615k, Rivals etc

Rebuilt status ITR with JDM front end.
Price is a tad high since it looks like it will need a bit of work.

near 300k...nice to see one get daily'd
rebuilt motor generally means pushed too hard on the track?
I noticed s2000 and ITR changes hands often. Original/2nd owners seem to hold onto them and the ones for sale will likely have a half a dozen owners that's all 'babied' the car lol

Not at all. Motor internals wear down over time. Rings and valve stem seals are usually the culprit for oil buring issues. A rebuild can consist of new seals, rings, bolts, etc plus machining. Usually the valves would be replaced as well.

I miss my ITR :(
