Uhhh its an auction, and the reserve hasn't been met.
No way the owner is actually selling it for anything near that from the looks of it.
Although I came across this.
What are your guys thoughts on the rebuilt titled theft cars?
A reasonable way to get into one? I mean realistically, they have been stolen, or they are about to be stolen from the looks of things.

^ that one has been relisted over and over at 10k USD it looks nice but I think it has quite a history since most vins and the body panels are gone

RevYouUp 05-15-2016 09:36 PM

^ That guy buys all the ITRs from Vancouver and fixes them up to flip. He bought my 97 couple years back and flipped it a couple months later :(

PLUJ 05-17-2016 01:48 PM

Cool ITR, thought it's worth a share.

The new price makes it pretty attractive for a DD.
If only I didn't do the motor swap on my CRX. :QQ:

thumper 05-20-2016 07:05 AM

i know it's a typo (i hope), but that mileage... :lol

but really, it's been for sale for a few months now hasn't it? if it's not because of the price, i have concerns about it's repaired condition :(

Make a good track rat or a daily. I too would be concerned about the repair quality. If the shell is shit then it's worth fuck all.

Speaking of claims, has anyone talked to this seller yet: Integra Type R

Curious what the dollar value of each claim is. This is starting to look like a "deal" now considering it's near stock form.

It says sold.

Ahh, edited since I posted. This one spent some time for sale with a few price drops. Curious on selling price. Just when I'm considering it as a daily, it sells :P

TouringTeg 05-21-2016 07:22 AM

How about that one with work meister s1? Sounds like they will sell it for less with stock wheels

1998 Acura Integra Type R

sell meisters, add some JDM 16" and you have yourself a nice daily.

westopher 05-21-2016 08:56 AM

I thought someone said that car had multiple drivetrain issues?

Luckily despite that, parts are a plenty used (MDA fab got tons of spare stuff lying around) and its a Honda (parts puzzle car, cheap fix)

CDN spec ITR's are essentially equipped with an EM1 gear box with an LSD. same ratios and final drive!

so if the trans does go kaput....... Take out LSD and equip onto a EM1 trans or go for the 98+ J spec 4.785 box upgrade.

(but of course with "driveline issues, more the reason to grind the price down)

I think it's safe to say that 90% of the R's on the market have some sort of oil consumption issue and are in need of a mechanical restoration. The newest one is 15yrs old at this point.

If I were in the market for one I would budget an additional 5k to getting back to good working order.

thumper 05-22-2016 10:04 AM

don't forget the transmission as well... i was quoted $7k including opening up the transmission, for an engine that was still running.

yeah... don't forget bushings too  engine mounts........... leaking tail light gaskets.................

list goes on

Came out of the 98 ITR that was fs in Kelowna for 26k

SumAznGuy 05-23-2016 09:22 AM

Just saw on FB, some guy in NY got $3K USD plus shipping for a complete set of front and rear CDM ITR stock red seats in mint condition.

twitchyzero 05-23-2016 09:40 AM

don't know why anyone would pay more than that?
unless garage queen or tinted windows, most of them have sun fade after 15 years
just go to junkyard and find integra seats....get it reupholstered in matching red recaro srd cloth

Isn't the Recaro SRD cloth different from the material that was used on the CDM red seats?
But I agree with you. That is a crazy price to pay for stock seats, even if they are in mint condition.

TouringTeg 05-23-2016 11:20 AM

Tinted windows oh yeah

Not to bad when I compare to Porsche world. I know the retail price is much higher but 993 sport seats in good shape are 6500 USD plus shipping

Here is a list of parts / repairs I have done on my 2001 with 162kms since buying in Feb 2016. $1800 so far. Keep it mind I am trying to bring it back to stock while doing deferred maintenance.

DMT tail light gaskets x2
OEM rear trailing arm bushings
OEM front brake pads
Front brake rotors
16 new short Honda lug nuts
OEM "A" emblems x2
OEM shift knob
Front wheel studs x3
Refinish wheels (Panther)
PCV valve
OEM steering wheel (reinstall)
OEM clock spring
OEM floor mats (new)
OEM clips for vac hose x2
OEM clutch and brake pedal covers
OEM air intake tube
OEM air box
OEM CD player (amber)

twitchyzero 05-23-2016 03:35 PM

are those Porsche seats quality bucket seats though?
these are generic econobox cloth seats....people just go gaga for them because red/ because rare. You're right I don't even think it's the same shade as red recaro SRD..and isn't that the appeal? To have it matching.
if they're made of high quality material like CF or aluminum I can understand...even as someone who appreciates most things Honda related I feel it's silly

actually, USDM type R seats are padded differently than the standard GSR or RS seats. softer mesh surface and foam on inserts for longer drive comfort and stiffer bolsters. lacks the shoulder bolster like the SRD's so theyre actually nicer to drive in for long drives to the track.

lighter weight and suede material as well.

lacks the height adjustment like the standard integras.

just one of the few little details on the type R that makes it special.
