Price is a tad high since it looks like it will need a bit of work.
2000 Acura Integra Type-R (Phoenix Yellow)

Saw it in person with a fellow RS'er.. don't know if it's the control arms he's saying in the ad, but for sure suspension work is needed front and rear of the car. Details like the ITR CF bezels in the interior are missing & there is evidence of poor repairs (frame-wise) to the front end as when you pop the hood

This one will need some tlc!

tegra7 06-29-2016 09:21 PM

A little off topic but I now have contact with the original owner of my ITR.

twitchyzero 06-29-2016 09:35 PM

nice...how did that come about?

CDM ITRs never had CF interior. I believe the 98+ ITRs in Canada did however get the slightly grey metallic plastic compared to the 94-97 solid black HVAC controls though. It was the USDM cars that had OEM CF bits (on some I believe, not sure if it was an option) and of course the special Type RX silvery-blue CF interior bits.

Anyone look at this?

thumper 07-08-2016 01:11 PM

i could have sworn this was posted awhile back because we were all questioning the questionable knockoff recaro srd's... and for some reason the part about it being repainted is new to me.

Didn't someone say the front end was repainted and a different shade of white from the rest of the car?
And of course the knock off seats.
And painted stock strut bar in the front.

I'd like to avoid it from a collector standpoint. I haven't put more than 5000 kms on my '99 since 2011 so I'm not worried about racking up the kms :P

It will see some highway trips and HPDE's over the next few years so I can't see it being driven more than 1000 kms per year.

TouringTeg 07-10-2016 12:39 PM

If you plan to autoX / DE etc your ITR a RHD example seems like a good low cost option. Clean title, CW 183km, $6700

Any downsides to the 96 model besides 4 lug?

96 Acura Integra Type-R (JDM)

white rocket 07-10-2016 01:34 PM

I just can't swing RHD. I wish I could as I'd have a few of them by now.

Smaller GSR brakes and 4 lug are the notable differences as the USDM/CDM came with the anemic cast header and the 4.4FD. The JDM '98 spec enjoyed the SS 4-1 2.5" collector header, 4.7xx FD, 16" wheels, CF spark plug cover, Momo w/airbag and some other subtle stuff. '00-'01 ITR's got the more aggressive intake camshaft and immobilizer. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff.

Noticed my 96 was missing rear wiper (my 2000 usdm had a rear wiper)

Supposed to have thinner glass on the J spec cars.

Different front and rear crash bars.

Fuel cut was higher on j spec car.

Smaller battery on J spec (if oem 96 battery size)

Gear 4-5 taller to compensate for shorter final drive on 98+ transmission.

J spec has different fuel Evap system.

All I can think of from the top of my head to add to j spec difference.

Some type Rs were missing air bags. (Some 98+ were sold without front air bags and some 96 as well)

Motor probably due for a top end rebuild, minimum. Refresh engine head and vavletrain.
