Fido just put up their Black Friday sales on their website for phones. LG G4 down to $99 on a 2 year smart plan. Was $250 just a few weeks ago.

Surface CPU has 4 cores vs the Asus 2 cores. I would go with the surface. Especially since the processor on the Asus is really crappy.

Surface is fast and you wont have any problems. Plus warranty is great with Microsoft, they are similar to Apples warranty policies.

For what you need it will be more than enough, if you get the Asus you will be unhappy down the road as it will get slower and slower as technology progresses. Again you also want your emails, browsers and videos to open up somewhat fast.

I honestly never spend under $500 on a notebook. but the surface has really gotten my attention.

We actually had a defective Surface that started acting up 2 weeks after purchase. Brought it back to Microsoft store and they replaced it onsite. They didn't even bother diagnosing the problem. That to me is great customer service, in and out in less than 15mins.

The surface pro 3 type cover works on the non-pro 3 correct? I know it wouldn't be flush when folded over but the larger keyboard would be nice.

I could probably get a type cover on CL for cheap.

dunno bout that, my xbox 360 with games has been for sale for $70 for about a week. at a certain point rather just keep it and use it to stream movies/netflix.
