ordered 2 of them last night

Black Friday makes me realize how uninteresting most people are.
Don't get me wrong, I like things, but some people actually live to buy shit. Its pathetic.
I saw a young couple on the bus sleeping on a pile of like a dozen shopping bags. Go home and fuck or something more exciting than buying a bunch of ugly overpriced shit from nordstrom.

Klondike 11-27-2015 11:12 PM

Bought a windows phone last night to replace my ageing Galaxy S3. Still on sale for $289

Buy Microsoft Lumia 640 XL (White) - Microsoft Store Online

J-Chow 11-27-2015 11:48 PM

Ordered the LG G4 cell phone on rogers corporate plan for $150 - 2 year plan last week.

Goes on sale today for $50 - 2 year plan.

FML.

Apparently the rep said I have Device Protection Plan and I can get price adjustment since I haven't actually paid for cell phone yet as its billed for next month, so I'm gonna try to give Rogers a call.......

It's unfortunate they are manipulated to act like puppets. This mentality of "I have to buy something because there are black friday deals". Sad thing is, rarely are they actually scoring any decent deals and most of the time for shit they don't even need. The people who bought N6 because it was too good of a deal to miss even when they have a phone is not much different. If you plan to gift it to someone, good for you.

Black Friday basically exposes some of the ugliest side of certain people, almost no different from animals.

Gumby 11-28-2015 07:38 AM

I bought a WiiU Smash/Splat bundle from Shoppers for $279.99 on Friday and redeemed 95k points for $170 off. I also happened to have a 20x points offer. Was scared they wouldn't have stock on Saturday to take advantage of the bonus redemption.

I hate those kind of people too, but some of them actually have debilitating diseases that handicaps them, but you can't see any physical signs.

Jmac 11-28-2015 07:39 AM

I bought a TV for my GF's mom. 32" Toshiba for $180 (had BB gift cards).

Her TV died and I'd rather her watch TV at home than come to our place. Merry early Xmas

it also shows how people like to judge folks and assume they are animals because they went shopping.

that's an ugly side of people too.

/didn't go black friday shopping, nobody i know went. i remember being 16-17 and lining up at a&b sound because being a teenager meant i was broke all the time.

ya know what else exposes the worst in people? everything. save the social commentary bullshit. all this shit talk and it's clear you contribute to the commercialism of everything just as much as a black friday shopper. you just don't shop on a single day of the year. MUCH SMUG, SUCH UPPITY.

I too ended up getting a Nexus 6 but not due to this thread. Just by fluke.

I actually needed a phone since my Nexus One, yes, ONE can't hold much charge anymore.

Went to Bestbuy and here's what I got:
  • Nexus 6 - $99
  • Trade in rebate - $-50
  • FREE $50 Giftcard
  • Total Price: $56 and change on 2 year contract (no big deal to me)

I only buy a new phone when my contract is done. Bestbuy was swamped with people looking to upgrade and some getting mad they had to pay out their old contract.

Bestbuy did good for me. Only problem was the Telus system was down for 2 hours so I had to come back. No problem. Once I got back, I was in and out of there in 20 min.

With this $50 GC, I can continue shopping for other Black Friday deals.

I didn't get a Nexus 6, I got a Nexus 6P. For me, buying a phone is like buying a laptop. I see no point in upgrading every 6 months. I use something until it becomes impractical to use.

This Black Friday felt exactly like a Boxing Day sale. For me personally, I studied the deals very carefully the night before, then methodically planned my day out. Didn't go very far and only ended up with my phone. Only have a few issues with Black Friday shoppers:

- Larger concentration of shitty drivers
- Shoppers who bitch, complain, and chew out the poor employees who are stressed out as is. You're getting a good deal on random shit. Just shut the fuck up and buy it, get out of my fucking way so I can make my purchase and leave.
- People still don't understand how cellphone contracts work
- People don't mind paying out $250 from their old contract just to get a new phone. Is that really worth it?

Why not? After watching TV at your place I am sure there are more fun stuff to do just between you two.:alone::alone::alone:

The product promotion from those flyers is strong. :lawl:

Would those same products, especially electronics, have a bigger discount at Boxing Day instead of Black Friday? I don't understand why people are in a rush to buy something when there is another sale next month.

If you are buying a game console or other electronics, those same products would have a bigger discount on Boxing Day because retailers need to sell off their old inventory so that they can bring in the new products in January.

quasi 11-28-2015 12:05 PM

Didn't go to a mall or buy anything online, feel pretty good about that decision.

Nobody is assuming they are animals "because they went shopping". Do you not think?

Clearly we are talking about the people lining up, breaking doors, stomping on each other, fighting over items, etc. Whether right or wrong, judging is part of life. If you act and talk like an idiot, people will judge you.
