Good to know, I thought it came here disassembled, then reassembled as a kit car, kind of like how the R34 GTR from over a decade ago came here supposedly assembled and insured as a kit car EDIT https://www.revscene.net/forums/5905...bc-plates.html Found the thread relating to it, Im Sure there were more posts relating to that specific r34 |
Apparently tomorrow they are changing the $4,000 provincial rebate on EV cars - the max price that is eligible for the rebate is now $50k which pretty much cuts most cars in the market lol... I guess the moola running low |
|
I was in the market for an EV but literally called today and found out it changes tomorrow lol, sucks for consumers who don't know and find out after |
Suck a dick turdeau and provincial government! That’s a brutal move. |
What was it currently? $8000? |

Better get Elon to lower the new China 3 price to $49999 and buy it before scumbag Canada bans it. Wants all EV by 2030, doesn't build charging stations, reduce grants, adds tariffs to China cars, #make Canada great again #white power |
Ah fxxk... there goes my window to buy an EV... :( |

I reached out to a few clients even though it was my day off, putting in deposits so we can grandfather the deal till July 17th. Shameless plug = we are also paying for GST on all in stock EVs for a 24 hour sale this Friday-Saturday So for a vehicle like Ioniq 5 Ultimate Deposit today + finalize deal Friday = $9000 rebate + $3200 GST in savings Otherwise = $5000 rebate moving forward after the 24 hr sale |

I'm on the wait list but haven't heard a peep from my product advisor. I was holding out for the 2025 model - looks like I'll be paying an extra $7200 just for the rear windshield wiper. |
^ Thats $7200 if the 2025 Ioniq 5 have no MSRP increases? 2023 => 2024 was a $2,000 MSRP jump even though the vehicle was 100% a carry over with no changes. Gumby - is your deposit refundable? will it persuade you to get into a 2024 with delivery before months end @ my dealer? |
^ Unfortunately I can't commit with such short notice. I'll PM you with more. |
And right on cue, Tesla has already dropped their Model 3 RWD's price to $49,990 LOL~ Nicely done, Elon~ Nicely done LOL~ |
so does a model Y LR still qualify for a credit b/c it's not a 'car' but a SUV? |
All the Model Y is out starting price have to be below $50,000 Tesla Canada need to drop the price $4000 to qualify. |
Good job yi long mah |
Say what you want, due to how Tesla is run, it is flexible like this. Super smart move though, legacies automakers like Hyundai might react, but won't be able to react this fast. Which means once the new rule takes affect, Tesla will once again pretty much have a monopoly on the EV game till the rest catches up which could take months. Like as bad as a model 3 is... no one is gonna buy a Nissan Leaf with 300KM range over the model 3. Like our Kona EV Ultimate is only $1,199 over the limit. Which for all things considered $1,200 bucks isn't the end of the world. They would be smart to drop it to be one of the few vehicles that can compete with the Model 3 in terms of feature set and range. But we don't know if Hyundai will drop the MSRP (BC is such a small market in the grand scheme of things) and if they do, how long will it take, how many meetings will it take to get it on the ground |
